Just watched a video Vince Russo posted the day her death was announced. I'm going to tell it like it is. Vince Russo is human garbage. I always thought he was just an annoying hack writer, but now I actually have real hatred for the slimy Long Island prick. A year ago he was outright denying that Chyna ever had any kind of drug or alcohol problems. And while making that claim, he did the infamous webcam interview with her where she accused HHH of beating her, which he used to make money for his stupid "Pyro and Ballyhoo" site. When he first posted it, you had to be a paying subscriber to his site to see it. Now he's claiming he knew at the time of the interview that she was in a bad place with drugs and all. Such a bad place that he was actively worried about her turning up dead. So what did he do, knowing what a bad state she was in? He shoved a microphone in her face, lied publicly about her substance abuse issues, and exploited her situation to pimp his shitty website and make money for himself. The worst part of the video is when he says "Chyna's spirit and God are speaking through me" when he outright blames HHH and Stephanie for her death. I read this post and went ahead and watched/listened to it just to see if it was this bad. Its not. Its worse. This may be Russo's lowest point. The entire video is literally him making this situation about him.

It was nice that they mentioned Chyna and put together a tribute. There were too many tweets and not enough footage of her working in my opinion. I'm just glad WWE acknowledged her contributions. That right there is the thing, Chyna was never the most polished worker. You may as well have been giving Maffew free publicity running stuff from her matches.

If you took the time on the WWE Network I'm positive you could put together a 2 minute video on youtube consisting of nothing but Chyna giving low blows. Edit in the classic "ringbell" sound effect. Sit back and watch the glory.

Was the tribute video edited on YouTube or did they not have a song?

Chyna and Sable were the biggest female stars of the Attitude era, but to my knowledge, they never wrestled each other. If that's true, I wonder why?

Sable had no business being in the ring with Chyna.

It's funny that he blamed the wwe for everything and not giving Joanie Laurer closure when on his podcast, Laurer lied about triple h beating her. Well at least she apologized privately during Piper's funeral.

probably egos on both sides Certainly, that, and Chyna felt for a long while that working with the women was beneath her in general. Ivory talked about it in her shoot that Chyna was very patronizing early on, and only really eased up when they had worked together a few times and it was clear Ivory knew what she was doing. Chyna didn't really consider herself part of the division for most of her run there, I guess.

Russo is not only a garbage booker he's a garbage person. and yet if he died tomorrow, you'd have people giving him tributes. Pretty stupid actions of him. But save the hate for where it's really needed.

Chyna didn't really consider herself part of the division for most of her run there, I guess. I think it's the biggest shame about Chyna's WWF run, that in the end she (much like Sable) certainly helped push her image but didn't really do much for any of the other female performers. I grant you, deep in the Attitude Era there, actual wrestling ability was very low on the mangement totem pole for the women. But even when there were acceptable-to-decent performers, when there were people like Jacqueline or Luna or Ivory, Lita or Trish, or even those that were there for their looks but had athletic potential, Chyna just treated them all as jokes pretty much and would crush them in easy and amused fashion whenever she deigned to actually fight them. Again, keeping it simply to the character, here. The argument was she was too big and powerful for the Women's Title, that it was beneath her. That's the kind of thinking that would never give guys like Rey Rey a chance or have Andre the champion forever. David vs Goliath, speed vs power is an old and easy trope in pro wrestling. I don't think the women's division could've had the growth it had from about 2001-2003 if she was still around, or unless she radically changed her approach. Too much of a spectre over the feast.
