Imagine paying $45 for a show that ends with a Bullet Club angle in 2016. Yeah, I did it and I'd do several more times. This has been the best non-LU show of the year. I disagee. NJPW and Royal Rumble, as well as most Evolve shows were better to me. Also, that ending was literally the worst.

Interesting with the Evolve love -- I've been to two Evolve/DG-USA shows live and I'd probably never go to another one. First one had its moments and was OK, at best, but the second was the absolute worst thing I've ever seen.

I think this tweet sums up the backlash that the end of the show is getting:
Colt's return/amazing promo ended up meaning nothing.
Also, GABE'S SHOOTIN', BROTHERS!

Well, it's not like they promised something and didn't deliver. It's like one promo. They didn't exactly spend months and months building up for something and then bailing on it. Don't think this is any different than Lethal's other defenses against non-ROH talent like Liger. I understand a lot of people like Colt, but he wasn't chasing the title and beating other contenders and such.

Ending sounds nuts. I guess Lethal's a babyface now?

The fact that they didn't spend months and months building around it is a huge mark against ROH, in my opinion.

That ending has solidified that I'm taking a break from ROH. I'll still check out the occasional match that gets high praise but I'm done following them for the most part.

Forgot about TO:Dallas but I have a hard time rating it since I was there. So much was camera only that it kinda fell flat after the Sami/Nakamura match. Yeah, I did it and I'd do several more times. This has been the best non-LU show of the year. I disagee. NJPW and Royal Rumble, as well as most Evolve shows were better to me. Also, that ending was literally the worst. I cannot speak on Japan since I cannot watch so probably should have qualified that, but the Rumble was alright thought this was better. I just cannot get into Evolve though. I try but for some reason it does nothing for me.

I'm kind of shocked by the huge difference in opinions on the show.

How much can ROH do with a guy on top that wants to freelance? Unless something has changed I thought Colt did not want to sign anywhere and ROH isn't going to run with a guy on top that isn't under a deal. Hell after Elgin's stuff, I'm shocked they let the guys work PWG.

Personally, I am/was a sucker for the whole "Returning hero returns to win the title that eluded him" angle. Like I said, even if Lethal had beaten him clean as a sheet, I don't think that would have been as bad as what they went with.

Also, I get the hatred for running an angle to close a PPV, especially with the WWE Network existing and costs being so cheap now. To me a)I love the Bucks and Adam Cole. Throw in Omega and this sounds almost like heaven. And b)Doing that angle to close the show, after the 8 man swerve, and it setting up something different for the show going forward, I'm excited about ROH's future in a way I haven't been since probably the show where Lethal won the title.

411mania editor Larry Csonka's take on the show.
In the year 2016, with the WWE Network priced at $9.99, New Japan World priced at around $9, and iPPV events priced at $10; Ring of Honor asked their fans to pay $45 for a PPV. On that PPV they hyped the return of a company hero, who was getting a world title shot in his hometown. And on that PPV, they pulled a card out of the 1996 WCW playbook and did an nWo ending on Nitro, where the main event had no finish and the only payoff was a superkick tribute. I like the Young Bucks, I like Adam Cole, I like the wacky amount of superkicks; but this was bullshit. You can’t expect people to drop $45 on a show like this and do that. The show was largely solid, with some good highs, but ROH coming off as second class citizens to the NJPW performers, who came across as the real stars. This came off as a $45 embarrassment, an ROH should be ashamed of themselves for producing it. Word is that there is frustration among the talent with Delirious as booker, well, that includes a lot of their loyal fanbase as well. Do not waste your money on this, hell, they’ll probably fill TV with it in three months or so. This is three hours I’ll not get back

well nice to see he can remain calm, cool and collected as a "critic", putting his biases aside and able to judge an entire show based on the entire show (and not just basing his entire ultimate review on, say, one part of the show like lazy internet hacks). writing "The show was largely solid, with some good highs..." and ending it with "This is three hours I’ll not get back", it is the hard hitting, in-depth analysis that has pushed both the writer...i forget his name...and 411Mania to the top wrestling review world and why everyone hangs with baited breath to see if Dave Meltzer this guy gave a match the coveted 5 stars

I am so tired of this New Japan stuff. NJ stuff is fine when they focus on guys like the big 4 last year when they did great buy rates and sold out all arena. This year should have been about establishing Naito and LIJ as top level group, but of course they pander to Young Bucks and BC I like the bucks but it's getting boring honestly
