The Los Angeles Rams, even with the cache of being the new team in town, are 29th out of the 32 NFL franchises in attendance capacity at 89.2 percent, ranking ahead of only Oakland, Washington, and San Diego. Yet the city and its fans are being rewarded with a second team? Let's not kid ourselves, Los Angeles is the most fairweather sports city in the country. Sure, they'll pack the Staples Center, Dodger Stadium, or the Coliseum if the Lakers, Clippers, Dodgers, or Rams are good, but the second they hit mediocre (not even necessarily bad), the fans bail. Part of me can't blame them because why would you waste three hours of your day watching a lousy team bumble to another loss when you could be enjoying walks in perfect weather, a swim at pristine beaches, or the company of beautiful women, but there has to be some level of commitment. If the Rams fans can't even fill the Coliseum when they have professional football for the first time in more than 20 years, what's it going to look like in about a decade once the novelty has worn off AND there's a second team in the city? Will they have to tarp off massive swaths of seats like they do in Jacksonville? Will they have to renovate the stadium and in doing so massively reduce capacity like Miami? It's almost like everyone knew this was a really shitty idea from the beginning

The interesting thing about the LA franchises is that every visiting team will be represented fairly heavily due to transplants. Unless the Rams/Chargers become world beaters, prepare for games to sound a lot more like the old Yeah/Boo Cena matches than traditional football games. Except Jacksonville. The 3 Jacksonville fans are all still in Florida. So once every so many years LA will get a 100% home game. Many MLB games when the Cubs or Yankees are in town are already like that.

There's also the fact that the Coliseum is the worst stadium in pro football to watch a game by all accounts

Damn Ex-Jets Joe McKnight killed in apparent road rage incident. RIP. And his killer was released in just 12 hours with no charges brought against him. F*** sakes, Louisiana. How the hell can somebody murder an unarmed man by shooting him three times from the safety of their own car and get released without charge? Is there something I'm missing here with regards to this story?

Is there something I'm missing here with regards to this story? Because it was a moving crime scene with self defense claimed. They started their fight on a bridge and it carried on for a good distance. Since it was a fight (road rage) self defense is justified so they have to investigate to determine if it is true before making charges and with no charges, you cannot hold someone.

That allows the Rams to get through the nomad years, then fire Fisher and make a flashy coaching hire as they open their new home. Just got to hope he doesn't destroy Goff in that time.

Ian Rappaport is reporting that Jeff Fisher has signed a 2 year extension. I have no words..... It has to be blackmail at this point or they just don't care about winning. Shame.

I don't understand what point you're trying to make. That should mean very little when you've had 4 losing (soon to be 5) seasons and refuse to adapt offensively.

This extension will look really bad if they lose out and finish 4-12.

It's not so much blackmail as it is nepotism. According to ESPN business analyst Andrew Brandt, Jeff Fisher's agent is the father of Rams chief operating officer Kevin Demoff.
