Hold it in high regard and still go back and watch it all the time when I can...except those last 2 seasons where the animation goes from really good to WTF.
My favourite arc is still BEYOND GOOD AND EVIL absoloutley love it ..biased because they finally put Psylocke in the show and I loved seeing my fav marvel female get some shine.
And I love the story that the animators literally drew Rogue for the sole purpose of showing off her ass...and it has to be true especially during the the prime seasons of the shows run...bless those animators lol.

The storyline and voice acting hold up for me. Unfortunately, the animation doesn't. Yeah animation and character design wise, I like Evolution a lot more.

I feel like the animation hasn't held up particularly well. But the writing and voice casting were all superb. The only case where I think another show did it better was Clancy Brown as Sinister in Wolverine and the X Men. Otherwise all those actors ARE the voices of the X Men to me up to this day.

Loved it as a kid, but then the Internet came along and now all I can think of when the show comes up is this: And don't get me started on "Oh, I'm the Juggernaut, BITCH!"

I remember being angry with how little Beast was in the first season since he was one of my favorite comic book characters. but absolutely loved this show. It really was a great show, with an awesome intro. And of course the cross promotion between XMen and Pizza Hut was an integral part of my childhood. Yeah, Pizza Hut was always where my mom and I would go whenever I had a day off or half day at school.. so f*** yeah those X-men tie ins were integral

Still a great show. Also love how it has a really good ending. Most of the other X-shows end on cliffhangers (Evolution did wrap up it's plotlines, but then had a montage of future events)
Also was introduced to the Purple Man with this show. In an episode that confused me at the time because it aired out of continuity order and before the first Phoenix saga.
THIS ONE'S FOR YOU MORPH.

Wait.
This is on Hulu? I must go watch all of it. Between this on Hulu and Animaniacs on Netflix, my childhood is back.

I haven't watched it since I was a kid. I found it enjoyable at the time, even though it paled in comparison to Batman: TAS. Back then, I hadn't read any X-Men comics outside of the Marc Silvestri and Jim Lee runs. Now that I've had time to read and re-read the earlier issues, my enjoyment of the show would probably be tainted by seeing the likes of Gambit and Jubilee in place of Kitty, Nightcrawler, and Colossus.

It's what got me into superhero stuff. As a kid I found Batman too scary (and Batman himself a lil bland), but the X-Men were just awesome with how flashy they were whilst still being a little bit scary but not quite enough. And of course, the arcade machine.
Now I'm a much bigger Batman fan than an X-Men one, but this cartoon definitely was my gateway into the genre.
Cyclops was the shit.

I'll never read an X-Men comic and not hear Cal Dodd as Wolverine, John Colicos (who was like the only name person involved in the show) as Apocalypse, and George Buza as Beast.
Never.
This new movie's gonna hurt not hearing Colicos as the villain.
The animation, though, was clunky. Spidey was better, though not by much. And Batman/Superman's look blew this crap away, handily.

"....got bit by a dog, too."
May have been one of my favorite lines from a cartoon ever when I was a kid.

What really hurt X-men & Spider-man was the censorship they were hit with
While Batman/Superman had to tone down violence (Joker kills with his Smilex gas rather than guns) they could still be pretty damn violent & Mature, X-men/Spidey however were sandbagged by it
They were still great though

It's a lot of cheesy goodness, and I think it holds up a hell of a lot better than the Iron Man one did, if nothing else. Yeah, but Iron Man's theme song makes hair grow out of anyone's chest, so he has that going for him if nothing else

That and Batman: TAS were two of the best shows, IMO, to come out of the 90s
