What really hurt X-men & Spider-man was the censorship they were hit with While Batman/Superman had to tone down violence (Joker kills with his Smilex gas rather than guns) they could still be pretty damn violent & Mature, X-men/Spidey however were sandbagged by it They were still great though Its rather interesting in a way. FOX was the original home of Batman TAS before the WB launched, so the network was apparently willing to permit more in the way of violence in their animated shows. Makes me wonder where the heavy handed censorship came into it.

So... Am I the only person who actually like Jubilee?
I do agree that hardly any Nightcrawler was bullhonkey though.

I certainly never had anything against her. I got into the comics through the cartoon, so to me Jubilee was just supposed to be there. I never thought about it until now, though, an Asian character with the power of firecrackers? Too funny.

Yeah for all the love Blum gets, you can't unhear Wolverine's original voice actor as him. He's what Wolverine sounds like, from roaring in berserker rage to consumed with grief to finding what small happiness he can.

From what I remember, the person who was in charge of Cartoons and Saturday Morning shows on FOX hated Comic Books with a passion and did everything she could to restrict them. From stating Wolverine can't attack anyone with his claws (hence every opponent he defeats with them are robots) to the outright silly such as when Spider-Man lands on a building, he's not allowed to scare off any pigeons when he does.

I really liked how they did work in other parts of the MArvel Universe (along with Spider-man) for instance this show had the first non-comic appearance of Ms. Marvel

While I'll agree it was impressive that they'd do season long stories, so much of what they were doing was adapting stuff that was already written. It's not like they were coming up with most of that in a vacuum.
And even with that, I think Batman's character stuff (e.g. the Mad Hatter episode where Bruce is trapped in a dream that his parents never died and has to make a choice to be Batman) is way more heady than most of the X-men's stuff.
Don't get me wrong, it was a great show, just not AS great as Bats.

I don't remember the show well enough to give an informed opinion on it, since I was young when it originally aired and I never watched it on Netflix figuring it would be around forever.
But the one thing I can say: All y'all saying this show's Wolverine is better than Steve Blum as Wolverine?
YOU'RE WRONG.
That is all.

Holds up better than all the other 90's Marvel cartoon stuff(Ironman, Hulk, and Spiderman are painful, to say nothing of the awful Avengers abortion), but it doesn't hold a candle to Batman or Superman: TAS.

Wow, I never noticed that. Similar to a few months ago I was reading some backstage stuff about TMNT 2, and how the turtles never once used their weapons, as a result of complaints from parents about the violence in the first movie.

I was most annoyed when the movie came out and Anna Paquin didn't fly around sounding like the actress from the cartoon sugar.

Just bumping the thread a little to share this video. Some interesting facts, including the composer of the theme was the same chap who wrote the one for Power Rangers as well.
