Obviously the feeling is that it shouldn't be Roman.
So who do you think it should be?
Not just who you like the most -- but who you think would raise ratings, move merch, increase subscriptions to the Network, gain mainstream publicity and make money.
So who can do that, and why do you think they'd be Best for Business?

I don't wanna live in a world anymore where WWE finds a guy and he remains the guy for 10 years.

Cody's a great pick but he needs the right gimmick/push.
Instinctually I'd say Aj but you might wanna push someone with better Mic skills but I wouldn't know who. and that damn sure isn't Roman. KO?

The "WWE brand" is the draw, so whether so and so raises ratings etc. is irrelevant. That will stay the same whether Roman's The Guy or not. So WWE might as well put someone who has more talent, more overness, and/or even more seniority/experience (which is basically everyone except Braun Strowman).
Off the top of my head I'd say AJ, Ambrose, Cesaro, Ziggler (added bonus of the "Vince look"), Rollins (unless they want to make him a top heel instead), Ryder (also has "the Vince look").

Vince McMahon told me Reigns is the guy to push.

No one. Create a main event scene with MULTIPLE viable "the guys." Sami Zayn, Dean Ambrose, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Cesaro, Rusev, AJ Styles, Bray Wyatt, Samoa Joe, Finn Balor, Shinsuke Nakamura and yes, even Roman Reigns. Hell, throw in Kofi Kingston and/or Big E since New Day really, REALLY need to Freebird the title.
As long as the Ortons, Henrys, Big Shows and Cenas of the world are far far away from it.

There shouldn't be one. Having one guy pushed at the expense of everyone else is counterproductive, you need to have a whole slew of people who can step right into that spot without seeming like they're Plan B to the audience. When the WWF and WCW were at their peaks, no-one in the main event scene felt like they were just there as a placeholder, the way they made CM Punk seem when he was keeping the belt warm for the Rock and Cena. Have a group of guys on that level then you have more opportunity to shake things up to stem the decline when things just aren't working, or when the main event scene is ravaged by injury. Reigns wouldn't have the problems he's facing now if it weren't so clear he's going to main event at everyone else's expense, he's going to be ahead of everyone else despite not having the fan support needed to be in that slot, he's not Hulk Hogan, he's not even Bret Hart.
Trying to make a new 'The Guy' will kill the company, ratings are going to keep on slipping for them and there's no WCW to spur them into action, now Vince is going to keep on pushing his guy and blaming the shrinking audience on the decline of television rather than offering a product that so openly works against the fans. It sounds farfetched, but look at the push of Shawn Michaels and Triple H, it took a career ending injury to end Shawn's initial push and Triple H kept on main eventing, getting loooooong promos every Raw and being protected like a super popular face long after it became clear he was ratings poison.

I don't wanna live in a world anymore where WWE finds a guy and he remains the guy for 10 years. Yeah. I think if they managed to raotate better between Cena, Batista, Edge and Orton then people wouldn't have gotten tired so fast. There's a reason New Japan has a few Ace positions

If Ken Shamrock had let one of his teammates start wrestling instead of him, we'd all be talking about when Guy Mezger revolutionized wrestling and became The Guy.

I think the entire archetype is outdated and they need to stop relying on one set guy for years at a time because it breeds stagnation and makes them overly dependent on individual people.

Kevin Owens as a face= boom period. Seriously. People don't want superheroes these days. They want everyday regular people who can kick ass. No one encapsules that as much as Owens

Is it really possible to have multiple "guys" on a completely equal level while there's a world championship that explicitly states by its mere existence that one guy is the best?

Kevin Owens is the only one who is the ABSOLUTE total package, unless Nakamura can prove his English skills are up to par.
Seth Rollins and Rusev come pretty close.
