I don't understand why anyone keeps booking him either. Isnhe that big of a draw that it's worth the risk ?

I mean, when he first left WWE, his more motivated run was one of his best. He was a star in the first season of Lucha Underground, he was a BIG draw for AAA and did well in his short ROH stint. Especially in Mexico, dude was basically a hero.
...then something happened when he went back to the 'E, partially because they brought him in for big money and did barely anything with him, then he just basically collapsed.
Like...I get the logic because he was a WWE name and WCPW needed some people to draw in. But if I were a promoter, from the moment I was hearing stories about him skipping out on other bookings, I would have just cancelled all plans with him and tried someone else. Or even, you know, hype up your homegrown talent more.

You can't really say it was when he returned to WWE, though. Sure, that didn't help matters any but I remember him no-showing events a few months before he returned to WWE, complaining about how he wasn't treated properly and given first class accommodations and all of this. Dude's been a mess for a fair amount of time now.

From what I remember, the difference is that he'd only no show stuff where he WASN'T getting major exposure. Instead of now where he no shows EVERYONE (except TNA where he'd be working for two days and literally have no oppertunity to no show).

Major spoilers from the Mexico qualifiers on Sunday... {Spoiler}Joe Hendry won the WCPW World Title from Martin Kirby - either Kirby got concussed for real, or they're running a concussion angle with him.
Penta El Zero M and Rey Mysterio won the qualifying matches and will join Will Ospreay, Zack Sabre Jr., Joe Coffey and a replacement for Drew Galloway in the 16 man finals in August. Apparently there's an announcement soon about how they're filling that vacancy.

Apparently with Kirby, the concussion was real because he was tweeting that he regretted carrying on with the match knowing full well that he had a concussion. I'm more likely to believe that than it being an angle but who knows?

I hope we find out soon whether this was an angle, of all the injuries in wrestling concussions are something I'd wish on people the least.

Just for interest, the WhatCulture YouTube channel put up the video they'll use for the live stream on Friday.
They're still hyping up El Patron/Mysterio for the show.
Appreciate the optimism, guys.

I'm really liking WCPW and think it is one of the better groups going in the UK right now. Sure it may not be one of the original hot promotions that has built up the English indie wrestling scene but overall their production is pretty good and I like that they at least try with traditional storylines.
The World Cup tournament so far has been one of my favorite things in pro wrestling lately.

I know this is something for attention but I so want to be in any meeting where the Rock's agent and the head of WhatCulture meet to negotiate this.
Mostly for how quickly she leaves when Pacitti tries to pitch a follow up Twitter angle where Rock challenges the undefeated Brandi Rhodes to a match.

I've ragged on them at times but that genuinely does suck for their growth.
People can rag on others for using Patreon or going to a subscription format for stuff but you can't blame YouTubers or even actual businesses for taking these models if YouTube's going to throw the baby with the bathwater every time an issue like this comes up, one that honestly, they caused themselves.
Heck, it's even affecting the WWE at this point. It can't be a coincidence that their social media division lost money in the last quarter with all this going down.

It really sucks for companies like WCPW and Beyond that relied heavily on YouTube revenue to be able to post so much free content on a regular basis. But, it is what it is. If they put out a quality product, their fan base will pay to see it.

I can't believe a million views got them less than forty bucks. What a bullshit policy.
