It is interesting to me that the team that spent less money on player salaries won this series.

Congratulations to Kevin Durant for showing the world you can get whatever you want as long as you ride the coattails of others and feast on nothing but cupcakes.

It is interesting to me that the team that spent less money on player salaries won this series. Especially when that's the team that always gets cited as the "super" team.

Congratulations to Kevin Durant for showing the world you can get whatever you want as long as you ride the coattails of others and feast on nothing but cupcakes. So, we gonna pretend like Durant didn't ball the f*** out during this series and that GS probably would have been taken to 7 games without him?

I wouldn't go as far as to say he did nothing. That's just silly and wrong. He's a very good player. An MVP type player....who couldn't topple the top dog, so he quit trying and went with the stacked deck

All that ride the coat tails riding shit is invalid when the dude put up 35 a game and the best player in the world had no answers for him. Some of y'all are not even criticizing no more, this is just hating at this point.

That's not true, and that is what makes it even worse. OKC was up 3-1 on GS when they were defending champs and had the best record ever. But KD was one of those guys who couldn't step on their throat in the 4th quarter to put them down for good. If Durant played the way he played in these Finals against GS, they would have pulled off one of the great upsets in playoff history and that would be his legacy. As it is, KD's legacy is a guy who piggybacked a team that was one Draymond Green groin kick away from going Drake. I'm not really sure he was capable of playing like this with OKC, though. This is the first time we've really seen him be able to go at it with a complete team, even if it was overkill. I still say his biggest problem was Russ. Durant stepped his defense up this year but I feel like he could of been this efficient in OKC if Russ actually set him up in his spots

But it doesn't change the fact he has some serious questions to answer about his heart

I'd have loved to see this site when Deion Sanders won rings with the 49ers and Cowboys in back-to-back years way back when. How do you think we would have reacted? Same as I did react when they happened(Cheer like crazy when he won it with my Niners, not so much when he went to & won with the Cowboys(coincidentally, my brother's team)).

If he put up 15 points a game and looked like spectator like LBJ did against Dallas then I can see the hating but at this point he's putting in work and they won that ring on the strength of him. He was the best player in this series

You know, the NBA sucks because 27-28 teams are eliminated from a chance at playing for the championship before the season starts.

Thinking about it, I do feel for OKC fans. Not necessarily because Durant bailed last summer, but when you think about it, this Golden State Dynasty was supposed to be their's.
It was only just five years ago that the team had Durant, Westbrook, Harden, and Ibaka. Presti has got to be really regretting trading Harden and firing Scott Brooks.

You know, the NBA sucks because 27-28 teams are eliminated from a chance at playing for the championship before the season starts. And that's because guys are going with forming a super team instead of actually having to fight for a championship

Essentially they chose to pay Ibaka than pay Harden and that was one of their biggest mistakes. I think the other one was not trading for Chris Paul when he was leaving the Hornets. Trading Westbrook for him would of been a beast trade and CP3 could of been the answer for them. Westbrook has never been able to mesh with Durant fully but CP3 could have.

Yea every team has always had it's clear favorite. Is the NBA more top heavy than they used to be, sure but this is nothing new.

I think you're being biased here. LeBron and Durant both left situations where they weren't likely to achieve the highest level of success in exchange for a better opportunity to do so. And you can't say he went to a "struggling Miami Heat team" when the Heat finished over .500 that season. LeBron grew tired of coming up short, colluded with some friends to form a "super team", and was very successful in return. There's no difference here. The look is really bad with KD though. The Thunder were a very good team who had the Warriors down 3-1. They could have taken another shot at it, but within weeks, he jumped ship and ran right to the team that beat him. It's hard not to look at him and not think that he saw adversity and instead of battling it, took the absolute easiest road possible. There's also a big difference between Lebron leaving for Miami, which was a decent team but not a championship contender at the time, and Durant leaving for a team that had a historic regular season and was arguably 1 Draymond Green suspension away from sealing it with a championship.

Probably surpass if they continue to be on teams stacked with future hall of famers while Lebron finds himself in the position of having to carry teams on his back. So now we find ourselves with this tired argument once again. Nothing is ever enough for LeBron James. He could join a team with Magic Johnson at point guard, Michael Jordan at shooting guard, Tim Duncan at power forward, and Shaquille O'Neal at center and it still wouldn't be enough for precious LeBron. I hate this retconning of LeBron James' career. The only team you could say that he carried to The Finals and had no chance of winning with were the 2007 Cavaliers. Every other team he's played on that has advanced to the championship round has been plenty good enough to win it all. He had Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh on the Heat teams, and both of them are surefire Hall of Famers. He's had Kyrie Irving on this Cavaliers team, who, as long as he continues to progress as he is, will be enshrined in Springfield. Kevin Love probably will be a Hall of Famer, too, but that's largely because the Basketball Hall of Fame is a laughingstock. But don't tell me this Cavaliers team wasn't good enough. Just because they faced off with a historically-loaded Warriors team doesn't mean LeBron James was the only player carrying the Cavaliers. And maybe, if this squad wasn't good enough, LeBron James should look in the mirror and blame the guy he sees for it being constructed this way. He's the one who said it was going to take patience and time and then immediately gave the thumbs-up to trading Andrew Wiggins for Kevin Love, hiring Tyronn Lue and canning David Blatt, and suffocating the Cavs' cap space when he implored the front office to give his buddies Tristan Thompson and J.R. Smith a combined $139 million. This team was good enough to win the championship and LeBron James didn't have to carry it. He had enough of a supporting cast to win. The Warriors were better. Just because Golden State is better than Cleveland doesn't suddenly make the Cavs paupers who had no right to advance to The Finals and only did so because LeBron willed them to it.
