So last summer NBC announced an upcoming sitcom with a DC Comics setting - since named POWERLESS - featuring an insurance company and its dealings with the DC Universe. A mix of The Office and (Marvel's) Damage Control. It stars Vanessa Hudgens, Alan Tudyk, Danny Pudi, Christina Kirk and, as its new ready-for-SDCC poster reveals, Ron Funches. www.superherohype.com/news/378423-comic-con-poster-for-nbcs-powerless-debuts#/slide/1

Hopefully the writing lives up to the cast, damn.

Too bad its NBC, even if the show turns out to be good it will most likely be cancelled

a few good people on the cast there.
But I have always thought this idea sounded awful.

a few good people on the cast there. But I have always thought this idea sounded awful. Depends on the writing, at this point. That cast should do well but if they have crap to work with.....well, it could be awful. Or hey, maybe they'll defy reason and still make it work. The idea of regular people who have to deal with the superhero shit in normal ways is a goldmine, if tapped properly. BTW, an article I read today sez Crimson Fox and Jack O'Lantern - 2 old JLI related folks - will be a couple of the first heroes to show up. So they're going (moreorless) Z-list with the DC characters right off the bat, which sounds refreshing.

Too bad its NBC, even if the show turns out to be good it will most likely be cancelled Apparently, NBC is well aware of their reputation for this, so they're planning on giving longer leashes to their fall shows than they normally do.

Fall shows, sure, but Powerless debuts midseason. Meaning after New Years.

Well, shit, I didn't know Funches was on this. This is great for two reasons:
1. Funches is awesome. 2. Hopefully that means Undateable is dead and never coming back.

This seems like a great idea for a shorter run show, like a BBC comedy.
Not sure what kind of legs it will have as a longer running show.

Was "insurance for superhero fights" too similar to Damage Control from Marvel Comics, hence the change?

And like that we already have a retcon. And it's not a bad one. Oh I hope this is a sign for how fun this show could be.

So a show featuring Retcon Insurance has already been retconned to be something else entirely?
Too perfect for mere mortal words.

Bruce Wayne as a Con Artist seems like something that fits perfectly fine in the DC Cinematic Universe.
