HAD to fit Batman in there... Now, Alan Tudyk's character has been changed to one of Bruce's cousins...which is weird because Bruce doesn't HAVE any family... (well, technically, he does, because there's a cousin of Bruce's from one story in the Silver Age, but that's like deciding Bat-Mite should be a part of the show as well...) io9.gizmodo.com/nbcs-powerless-breaks-the-canon-with-a-made-up-wayne-co-1791211046

So all these last minute changes are a bad sign, aren't they? And I don't mean "his name" or "that subplot," I mean "the whole f***ing setting & plot of the show." I have less faith the more I hear of this......and I think DC TV is their strongest thing right now outside the comics.

Yeah, going from "A show about superhero insurance" to "Lab that sells goofy superhero items" is a pretty massive change to the fundamental basis of the show...

Yeah, going from "A show about superhero insurance" to "Lab that sells goofy superhero items" is a pretty massive change to the fundamental basis of the show... I would also think the "irregular appearances by random DC characters" gets cut off too, now that the show's basically in an R&D lab. Part of the original premise's appeal was that they were going to mine the C and D lists of DC Comics and have weird heroes show up dealing with Retcon Insurance and people filing claims against them for their shenanigans.

Either premise you go with, this sounds like a half decent Robot Chicken sketch stretched out into a full series.

Still looks pretty funny. But insurance adjusters looked more promising.

Not sure I'd buy insurance from someone who keeps forgetting her problems with phones.
I'll give this a shot, but no guarantees I'll like or hateit.

That was fine for a first episode, I'll tune in again for the next few episodes, being right after Superstore that I'm a big fan of makes it a bit easier.

I'm watching right now and hating it. I have not laughed or even cracked a smile a single time.

I was too distracted by the fact the lead character looks way too much like Skye from SHIELD.

I got kind of a "Better Off Ted" vibe from the show, and thats a good thing IMO.

Oh, this was BAD.
But it reeked of "pilot" so I'll see where it goes for at least a few more episodes.

io9.gizmodo.com/the-10-biggest-changes-powerless-made-from-its-original-1791963975Apparently, the show sounds like it's completely different from the pilot. Which sounds disappointing. I'll give it a try and see how it pans out (Wildojinx's comment about it being like Better Off Ted is promising), but I'm disappointed that they've kinda switched the dynamic of the characters, where now, Hudgens' character is the wide-eyed excited ingenue, and everyone else is the ground down, annoyed group that she has to win over. It's too typical to how so many office sitcoms work.
