Their characters are supposed to be two uneducated Italians from the streets of NYC. I think it fits.
But I think the whole dialogue was unfunny. Hell everybody knows Sasha just got married so it makes him look extra dumb.
I think they are overdoing it with Enzo and Cass and week in, week out, their promos becomes less and less funny. Tons of cliches.

It was unfortunate, but a well WWE dips into time to time like small dick jokes. I guess when all you focus on is building muscle and nutrition you can't really create Oscar Wilde or Jeff Ross style burns. You have to go for obvious character flaws and innuendo.

Hitting on Sasha was one thing. Saying once that she wanted you is another. Both are passable, she's a pretty girl. I get it.
Going on and on about how you were going to nail her and making her sound easy for what felt like 2 minutes straight was painting the Divas Face Champion as a massive slut/skank/whatever. That's just lame and stupid.
Your gift of gab kicked your own ass last night.

Cass was billed from Queens hence "East River Crossing" as his finisher Queens is practically Brooklyn 2.0 but I get annoyed when they go cut promos about Brooklyn like last night. I have no clue why it bothers me other than they are not from BROOKLYN.

Hell, most of our New Jersey trash is just imported Staten Island trash.

Political correctness has really hit the WWE universe if this is how you are going to react every time a non PC incident occurs.
As much as I appreciate the support as a gay man I can tell you its not wanted or needed, we can handle a joke.

People are going to turn on Enzo and Cass if this is the level they're going to settle at.

As much as I appreciate the support as a gay man I can tell you its not wanted or needed, we can handle a joke. "Political correctness" isn't "wow that was a really crappy joke and I wish WWE would stop leaning on such shitty low-hangers because it's just not funny", and if the really mild reaction in this thread of "that was dumb and not a good segment" is something you take issue with, then maybe peoples' allegedly politically correct sensibilities aren't the ones that are a little too sensitive this time aorund. It was a shit joke, there doesn't have to be an agenda behind saying that.

It is almost as anachronistic at this point as the way my dearly departed sweet grandmother would talk about the Japs and Krauts.

Eh, I don't find gay jokes offensive. The same "dey be f***ing" jokes could be made towards a man and a woman or a pair of gay platonic friends. The problem isn't whether gay jokes are funny or not (I personally think limp-wristed, ultra effeminate gay characters need to go the way of the dodo, however). The problem is that it's not a good quip about your adversaries to where the only thing you can come up with as an insult is to insinuate they are gay. It's not creative and it's not clever, especially when the guys spouting it are a dude who always shows off his chest and looks like a lawnmower mangled his hair & a guy who only shows up in trunks, no matter the occasion.

It's only an insult if you view it as one. So if Owens and Jericho were kayfabe mad that Cass referred them as being gay, then it worked. If the fans thought it was funny for any reason (and a lot did, though the reaction wasn't as big as it would have been in the late 90s) then whatever.
These aren't two great guys with intellectual insults or two super-focused guys just trying to get at them. It's a couple of NY/NJ guys that are supposed to be "street smart" with smart mouths. The type of guys (their characters) that would probably use slurs as insults in a real life setting.
It wasn't in good taste, but either is making fun of someone for being Canadian, or looking like an aging rock star, etc. We can all find something to be offended about, so if this is what you choose...then this is what offends you. Just my opinion.

Guess they found Cena's leftover joke book when they were hanging with him. Can't be. The jokes Enzo were saying were actually funny.
