When the guys who are supposed to be the cool good guys on your show who are super good friends with all the OTHER cool people on your show (Enzo and Cass are buddies with Sasha and Cena after all) it sends a message that it's fine to rip on folks for being gay.
Jesus, come on, this show is PG right. Kids watch this shit. Here's a wild idea. Give me a few seconds next week of Cena going "Enzo you've got to cool it on the gay jokes bruh, not cool." and Enzo going "You do that shit all the time." and Cena being all "...Shit, yeah. Fair. Okay, let's BOTH cool it."
How about an actual, real teachable moment that would take a few friggin' seconds on a show you know kids watch.

There's quite a few posts here that read like those non-sequitur memes on Facebook that's just a picture of someone looking all smug being all "YEAH, WELL I DON'T *GET* OFFENDED " If you want to make an argument that Enzo and Cass are supposed to be uneducated and that the joke is supposed to fit their character, whatever, sure. But if the response to someone saying "that joke sucked and I didn't like it" makes you immediately jump to "YEAH WELL THE WORLD IS TOO PC, GOD WE CAN'T EVEN MAY GAY JOKES ANYMORE?!?" then I don't understand you as a human being and I've blocked your posts.

Also, if you're going to write segments like this, don't then turn around, throw your arms in the air, and complain that nobody wants to advertise on your show.
For most companies, advertising on a show where one of it's heroes treats homosexuality as being strange is not a good look for them in 2016. Complain about political correctness all you want to but, the onus is not on the viewer to just accept whatever dreck you put on your show.

I don't really consider such jokes by characters to be "gay bashing", since such an insult probably wouldn't pack any (or as much) punch if it the target actually were gay. If someone said "lol ur gay" to an actual gay person, their response will most likely be "And?"
It's not meant to be a huge affront to the gay community so much as it's simply getting under someone's skin by calling them something that they're not.

The issue is that it makes someone's sexuality a target for mockery.

I said in the RAW thread that the show felt like Vince wrote it and with his apparent reluctance to keep up with the times, I can see why this joke made it on air. Bert and Ernie jokes are about as relevant as Teletubbies jokes. But at the same time, insinuating that two people are gay shouldn't even be considered an insult, or an attack against someone's masculinity for that matter.

Bert and Ernie jokes are about as relevant as Teletubbies jokes. But at the same time, insinuating that two people are gay shouldn't even be considered an insult, or an attack against someone's masculinity for that matter. Good point at the end there: beyond the obvious that using "gay" as an insult is automatically insulting to anybody who is or knows a gay person, it also keeps poisoning the well when it comes to what's "acceptable" masculinity in culture. There's a reason the term "toxic masculinity" exists, and it's largely because there's been too much energy over the years put into defining what it means to be a man, and part of it involves never even hinting at the possibility of finding another man attractive, to the point that anyone who does is considered a deviant and a threat to the masculinity of others, and thus may be mistreated in some way. Obviously I don't think Vince or whomever in the writers room was going out of their way to do anything like that; I'm sure that in a vacuum that Vince, the writers, et. al. would have nothing bad to say about LGBT people, or else Darren Young would've been in trouble when he came out. However, because of how we've been socially conditioned since childhood in western society it can just become a subconscious bias that shows through, and that's likely the case when stuff like this happens.

Everyone stop getting your knickers in a twist (or pants if you prefer) Underwear would be the knickers equivalent. This is also a forum. People can express their opinions. If you don't like it, don't read them.

Two things...
Pretty f***ing disgusting how a number of you are trying to prevent anyone from speaking up about being against things like this by shaming and belittling them.
Also you same people keep crying about the "outrage" and all of these imaginary "offended" posts in this thread before there were any in hopes of preventing having to see anyone actually have an opinion different from yours.
Be better than this FAN. This thread and how it went is a bad hat for you to wear.
