I'm only down if it's HLA Uh, no. I'm not interested into seeing women strip down to dental floss thong lingerie and then get brutally murked by Samoans.

Back in 2012 there was a thread like this, "Is it time for another gay storyline" My response was: I've been thinking about this for a while in regards to riccardo and Alberto. What if Riccardo lets slip to one of the divas that he loves Del Rio. She then tells Alberto who flips out, beats nthe crap out of him. Humiliates him. Outs him to the rest of the locker room. Then some one (I kinda want it to be Orton) takes him under his wing, trains him, and has his back in the feud. It could be a profound story. I still think that would be great from both an LGBT and Be A STAR standpoint. I don't know if there's any two people now who would fit that dynamic, maybe they could bring Ricardo back to work with ADR again on Smackdown. link

I'm looking forward to the first "Fire Island Death Match". Which I'm surprised FMW didn't name the "Electrified Barbedwire Dynamite Pool Double Hell Death Match" they had back in 1994 not knowing what "Fire Island" means to Americans.

I think I only caught one of the original HLA bits. By that time something like that was pretty embarrassing. After that time I know they still had bra/panties and evening gown matches, which are all pretty terrible.

Didn't Goldust kiss Piper or vice versa at Wrestlemania? Haha yeah Piper kissed Goldust I think, Piper's explanation of it was hilarious. The crowd popped but instantly got confused, it was like 'YAAAY-huh? Why the hell did he do that?'

Eh, some of them are going to have to be heels at some point. Anybody can be an asshole. Being a social (or ethnic/religious) minority doesn't automatically make one a good person. Jerkasses come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and creeds.

If they're gonna have straight superstars portray gay characters, might I propose Braun "Papa Bear" Strowman. That's money right there.

They should take the same approach as UFC. Don't draw special attention to their sexuality. Just treat them like you would any other fighter. Under the right circumstances you can mention their sexuality as part of who they are, but don't constantly bring it up and make it a huge issue.

I agree, and I generally wish that queer people could be on TV in all sorts of roles so that they can be acknowledged as people rather than an amorphous group. But given how delicately this needs to be handled, especially in as clunky a medium as wrestling, I think starting with a heel is the wrong way to go. Gotta crawl before we can walk, I think.

Depends how they do it. You could actually argue they have been doing it for years. The divas have had numerous lesbian storylines, Goldust was a character where the Q word could apply for a multitude of reasons and they've never really been shy about oiling up guys in tight trunks and selling a shit ton of pictures - which is pretty gay really I should imagine the more interesting thing with this sort of thing will be the backstage stories it generates. I cant imagine all of the wrestlers being the most open minded, either being told they have to play gay or be played as the interest for a gay character. AJ Styles and his 'GAY COMMUNITY?!?!' interview springs to mind. I just hope they avoid using the Q word. It isn't appropriated, it's insulting.
