Like all good things, WWE sees people enjoying it and beat it to death.

Brock is like Braun Strowman on a grander level.

I don't object to Brock being a WWE wrestler, I think he has a place there, I just don't think he should be raised on a pedestal far above everybody else. Put him on top, sure, it makes sense, he's got form, he's a big dude with pedigree. It doesn't make me feel good to be complaining about it, because I really want to feel like I'm enjoying WWE's shows again, but he's one of the things that prevent me from doing that. I think it's symptomatic of WWE's writing in recent years, I feel that if they did a better job then Lesnar could do a great job as a top tier guy giving people a challenge but not being totally invulnerable. I've been tired of him being in the spot he's in for quite some time, compounded by Heyman's samey promos every time (even though I like Heyman and also feel he could do better). I just... I don't understand their logic, surely they understand what this is doing to the hierarchy of the roster?

I like Brock on the high pedestal. I just think we're past time for him to have been knocked off. It's gone on too long. Ambrose earlier in the year was the perfect time. I dunno who can now and have it feel believable.

That Triple H interview from two weeks ago doesn't apply to Lesnar. Where he talked about how fans boo people who always win and we prefer underdogs over winners. And when that winner finally loses he gets humbled and the crowd starts to feel sympathetic is complete bullshit. Lesnar needs to f***ing lose ASAP. I want his loss to be so bad that he's made to look like a bitch. My seats and the price to watch Lesnar do what he did tonight was bullshit. Just have anybody beat him even Roman.

I dunno who can now and have it feel believable. In that case there's no point in having Brock around. All he's done since his return is take up valuable screen time that could've been used to showcase others, and bump the entire roster down a peg forcing everyone to take a spot from someone below them (main eventers stuck in the upper Midcard, upper midcarders stuck in the Midcard, midcarders stuck in the lower card) whenever he's around. And they gave Brock the Streak for the exact reason of "who can do it and have it be believable", but if Brock can't put anyone over either, then they ultimately wasted the Streak and wasted the Cena squash. Now he's just taking up space. WWE is so stuck on their past stars, yet simultaneously seem to retcon Lesnar's first run out of existence and present it as though reason he's on a pedestal is because of his UFC career rather than his WWE career. I had to watch a whole generation of talent come and go without having their potential realized because of WWE's whole remember when wrestling was good, f*** everything else nostalgia boner. It's disgusting.

His matches have sucked forever (his actual gimmick is that he does one move over and over), but worse than that: He was only ever a big deal because he succeeded over in Real Fighting, which is stupid. We're supposed to get sucked into the fantasy that we're watching real fighting in the WWE. But y'know, that's hard to do when there's this guy who's terrifying and in parentheses we always know that it's because he can really actually seriously fight, you guys, for real.

I'd rather they do something good with him than something bad. I don't really get much out of schadenfreude nowadays, since it requires something to suck, and I'd rather it just... didn't.

People are turning on the booking, not Brock himself - that's what the fans were booing too. The crowd was dead, but they were paying attention to the match and they cared about the outcome.

I agree, but judging by the other responses in this thread, it's time for 'Go Against The Grain" where people say that someone popular sucks. Wasted the streak on him, he got over by real fighting it doesn't make sense, he shouldn't be so far above everyone else, have anyone beat him even a non wrestler...... I know it's their opinion, but....it feels like they;re just needlessly going against any idea of the character in the first place. Personally I think Brock should remian the badass that he is, but freshen up the matches a little, have him decide to go over the top and handcuff someone before mercilessly beating them down, so that the rooster has enough of him (that's right, it's a typo, the Red rooster lol) and someone from them comes forward to challenge the big giant. He can still be the unbeatable final boss that he is while still freshening up the storytelling both in and out of the ring.

I dunno who can now and have it feel believable. The problem is, the way they've gone about it, beating Brock requires a certain kind of booking for whoever does it. I like Brock. I do. But his matches and feuds are so paint by numbers that it has killed any interest I have in watching him.

WWE is a lot like SNL, some catchphrase Unintentionally gets over(Suplex City) it get's buried into the ground after being milked to death. All forms of entertainment do this, to be fair. On the other end of the coin, it's the Internet Mantra: We'll like something until someone else likes it. And if they want the suplex machine gimmick for Brock, he needed to use a variety of versions of the move....that's how it worked for Taz.

I still dig Brock, my guess is the booking last night was supposed to make him more monster heel-ish again. Instead of the crowd singing along with suplex city.
Seemed they were kinda trying to re-do Brock's legendary destruction of Cena at Summerslam 2014. The difference is here much more of the crowd wanted Orton to win, or at least almost win. And also the finish was weird.
And also agreed with all that Dean should've been allowed to get more in at WrestleMania. But criticism for two matches doesn't mean I'm no longer a fan personally, I think he's one of the more interesting characters on the show.
