And that sentence is why the territories died. And funny how Vince is nowhere to be found in it. The "Apter" mags sure pushed the hell out of the notion Gino was headed toward mainstream success and superstar celebritydom. Okay, now we know the exact person to blame for that shit. And so he did. If "big things" means "only known for being Buzz Sawyer's kid brother" then yes.

I like this: Because fluke 6-year title reigns happen. I think it was in reference to his reign in '94. You sure? Because the Skaaland attack was at the beginning of his heel turn. Hard for me to say without seeing who they have listed as champions in that mag but it was likely written juuuust before his second (and real fluke) title win. The mags at the time were usually about 2-3 months behind in terms of coverage, and the cover dates were usually 2 months ahead of the month it was actually published/released (used ta' be, the cover date wasn't the "this month's issue" notice to customers but a "the month listed is when you need to pull them off the rack" notice to merchants). Which WWF champ is listed in their rankings, Hart or Diesel?

Which WWF champ is listed in their rankings, Hart or Diesel? Ya know, that's really valid. I literally just checked and Bret is listed as the champion. That fluke comment really looks ridiculous now.
