No. Cause I literally didn't. You did. Your first point was that she got over because she's a girl. Literally: 1. Girl He said if there's a history of wrestlers getting over for merely being a girl. You responded that you've only watched since the '90s. That would mean that you wouldn't be able to be to give a fair answer. Now, your argument could be that nowadays she's getting over for acting like a girly-girl. That she's cute and hugs people and has the side pony tale, etc. as has been stated. She brings in a certain demographic, i.e. younger girls, women that want to be empowered, "feminist" men for want of a better term, people who think she's cute, etc. Maybe it is. Just saying girl is a bit misleading in your intent. Still, no point in arguing and I don't agree with using the "Jackson" part there. Thats basically what I meant. As others have brought up, culture is more reciprocal to a positive character today than the 90s. However, that doesnt play for Apollo but it does for Bayley and its probably due to shes an attractive female. Nothing wrong with that but not exactly across the board. I don't get Jackson either. For the record.

Because the only way I could understand equating the characters of Bayley and Apollo Crews while comparing their general overness and pinning it on "Bayley is a girl" is to either have not seen her NXT work, or to be somehow completely missing everything about their characters somehow.

Bayley needs to go away, so no she hasn't disproved this theory but affirmed it in my humble opinion. Bayley gets a pass from the majority because she has a couple of somethings (barely) and she is as skinny as a toothpick and wears a goofy side-ponytail. (Imagine Nia Jax going around smiling all the time like a goofy loon, she would be hated out of the building.) Let's face it people, that is just a fact of life. She is no Charolette and she is no Dana Brook. Crews or Reigns would be more accurate to compare. So the official post falls flat on it's face because it is logically flawed in the first place. Good day sir! Brother Nero. I knew you'd come! Delete Delete Delete!

I find her annoying AF. Same as early Rock. Same as Angles character. But shes over cause: 1.) Girl. 2.) Culture today. I don't think she's over for those reasons. I think the reasons are: 1. Wrestling ability 2. Buzz from multiple sources due to wrestling ability 3. Great matches with top talent 4. Fun character that isn't overly grating and has widespread appeal 5. The opposite of what a smiling white meat baby face does - she wrestles with intensity when she's in the ring. 6. She plays a great underdog She's female John Cena without the hate because the girls want to be her and the guys want to be with her. She's Surfer Sting without the drugs and demons Furthermore, she has "it." I've had non-fans watching with me when she enters and they're inevitably drawn to her. When I ask why, the answers are very intangible. Her look, her entrance, music - it's all very unique, fun and passionate. She has charm and charisma that feel genuine. As for me, obviously I'm a die hard wrestling fan. I can honestly say right now she's my favorite wrestler in the company. Why? Because I have this strange hope to see her at the top. For me, It's almost like a fatherly pride thing (I have a daughter and anyone with a daughter would understand). I think Bayley has the in-ring and out of the ring talent to bring wrestling mainstream. She has all the tools, all the intangibles and she's got the benefit of timing. And if she's as pure hearted, passionate and genuine as she comes across on TV, who wouldn't want to root for her? Someone has go to be a seriously jaded dick to want to see Bayley fail.

She loves certain wrestlers like Kofi and Seth to death but with Bayley it's a whole other ballgame. All throughout 2015 NXT, Bayley had just the most amazing story arc and good lord did it resonate with little girl wrestling fans.

Bayley smiles because her character would smile a lot. She's a dorky fangirl living out her dream. It just so happens she's amazing in the ring.
Crews smiles because he HAS no character. Same as the Blue Chipper. They have nothing to say, but they're good guys, so they keep that smile on even when met with complete apathy or DIE ROCKY DIE signs.

Well then maybe if you haven't seen all the work that people actually like her based off of, you're not informed enough to be throwing around assumptions that people only like her "because she's a girl".
