Just watched her on Talking Smack. Grade A character work.
Is it an exaggeration to say she might be the best talker of all the women?

Clearly able to improv too like the way she ripped on Renee's shirt and took Bryan's insults without laughing and flipped them on him. Hilarious.

The pigtails and excessive lipstick are a bit too cute for my tastes but it works for the short, former cheerleader. I do miss the Freddy Krueger claw and gear. Also, her heel work is great.

I just hope the look lasts long enough to make it into 2K18. Doesn't matter. The developers seem to insist on making games that are out of date, so her first appearance will probably feature her normal heel attire. Just watched her on Talking Smack. Grade A character work. Is it an exaggeration to say she might be the best talker of all the women? The bar isn't high at all but that doesn't mean she's not really good in her own right. I really loved how she brought up the history she has with Becky and how she was setting herself up as a crazy pageant kid as her backstory. You can tell she really cares about the character aspect because she knows its her strong point. Surprised to say Becky and Alexa have beaten Bayley and Sasha as my favorite divas. They just have the writers looking out for them while on RAW the mentality is largely 'you liked this in NXT, so surely...'

I don't know what's gone wrong with Banks in the last few months, but the shine seems to have gone off of her big time. Bayley's still new enough where it's not a problem yet, though.

Exact same first name as my sister, though, so....ehhhh. Kind of a killer on that front.
EDIT - though I see her real name is Alexis, so that's cheered me up.

It's not 'big time' enough for me. Haha. I'll admit, I genuinely am not very fond of her at the moment but she doesn't take all the blame. The writers basically screwed her with the 'We Want Sasha' angle - you get great results short-term but in the long run fans expect her to be transcendent every time she's out there and she's just not going to be. Becky isn't having great matches every week but it doesn't matter because people genuinely like her character. AJ Lee could wrestle in three minute tag matches every week and keep interest in big moments during her first title reign because a lot was put into her story. I'm not sure what Sasha needs but they could start by fleshing out her persona beyond buzzwords. I still like Bayley. Honestly, it would help her to be pushed around by a frustrated Paige, assuming she returns or even Summer Rae. Don't just go straight into an NXT rerun and expect huge pops to pour in.

We all adore her. We think she's a righteous dudette. Alexa Bliss's day off?

They just have the writers looking out for them while on RAW the mentality is largely 'you liked this in NXT, so surely...' Unexpectedly, it helps that Becky and Alexa were called up before their "journey" (so to speak) was complete. Neither of them were NXT women's champion, neither of them had a long-term "classic" rivalry that saw them grow into standard bearers. In that regard, it's easier to keep interest in them, because we still haven't seen their story told (though we're mostly there with Becky now). With Bayley, on the other hand, we've already seen her rise from awestruck rookie to NXT locker room leader. We've seen Sasha go from generic and timid to "The Boss", who had to get mean to find her style and get what she wants. We've seen their big-time matches and long-standing rivalry that built them both up.

I've been a supporter of Alexa since NXT, and I still subscribe to the idea that she's a Disney princess that turned bad and is taking the villain persona to cartoonish levels. My only gripe is that her finish is no longer called the Sparkle Splash.

Watching the match on Smackdown, and the little face off afterwards, just reminded me anew of how good Alexa is at playing her character. She's completely self absorbed, and is telling Becky 'you see what I just did? I won' after a match in which she mostly got beaten up and then got an opportunistic pin victory. She's utterly believable as the delusional, bitchy heel, and that's why she's the perfect foil for Becky right now.
Out of all those women in that match, she's the one who feels most 'alive'. Who feels like a real person taking part in a wrestling match, rather than a wrestling character. I guess it's because she's playing such a well known archetype, but damn, she plays it well.

Ten Monopoly bucks says that they put her in as the 'blue' face version, and her finisher is named 'Sparkle Splash' instead of 'Twisted Bliss', complete with her old non-heel entrance music.

I always wondered why men have a thing for women in pigtails. I'm sure there's a psychologist somewhere on this forum listing down every screen name with a red marker under the title 'Posters That Have Unresolved Erotic Disorders'. If I've learned anything over the years, that's Kash Flagg. *shrugs* I can't lie.

Honestly I really don't like that people are trying to make Alexa be Harley, obviously in the personality by far Alexa isn't some crazed sociopath. She doesn't wear clown or harlequin makeup (just extra makeup). Her mismatched hair tyes and her devious heel gimmick/personality remind me of Junko Enoshima a lot more than Harley Quinn... just so happens that Junko is an even bigger sadist/mass-murderer/poor-role-model than Harley but I'm just honestly sick of everyone automatically accepting she's trying to be a Harley clone. (even I did it!) Junko art:

She looks great, but I prefer regular heel Alexa. I do think that pigtails are something of an infantilisation thing, an attempt to make someone look more girlish and innocent. It's not a look that has ever really done it for me. And the thing is, this doesn't really fit Alexa's character. Harley Quinn cosplay feels like a move to appeal to the audience, to gain their sympathies and titillate them. That's never been heel Alexa's game. She's the alpha bitch who knows you think she's hot but doesn't care, because you'll never have a shot with her. I hope it's just a one off, and they don't try to turn her into a new character. Outside of the fact that I like pigtails, both as my hairstyle of choice and on others, I agree. It looks good, but it doesn't fit her and it takes me out of the character. Plus, it's just TOO on the nose for me, with as pointed out, expect a ton of Harley Quinn costumes come October. But I'm also in the huge minority in that my favorite look for her was Elsa, the fairy cheerleader. Wrestling really needs more tutus

(even I did it!) Junko art: Harley Quinn is much more well known and stuff like the Mismatched lipstick in a checkerboard pattern and the pink and blue color scheme (Harley's hair colors in the movie) points more towards that's what she's going for.
