Title-Uncanny X-men Annual #11 Every few weeks I will goto my local comic shop and dig through the cheap bins. Usually just grabbing various dead universe stuff to complete my collections. Last trip I found a copy of one of my favorite one in done X-men stories. This annual came out back in 1987. I can clearly remember grabbing a copy off the spinner rack at K&B drugs. I had already been subscribing to Uncanny X-men for a few years by then. But the subscription didnt include the annuals. Underneath that well done cover is a great story written by Chris Claremont, pencils by the great Alan Davis and inks by Paul Neary. The story starts off with a very drunk Wolverine walking back to the X-mansion. It is odd cause of Wolvie's healing factor it takes a huge amount of booze to get Wolvie drunk. Wolvie is so loud that he wakes up the rest of the people in the mansion. Which causes the X-men,plus Captain Britain,Megan and Psylocke to greet Wolvie at the front door. While Wolverine goes up to his room we get treated to Captain Britain,Megan and Psylocke talking in the kitchen. Seems Psylocke not so sure she is fitting in with the X-men. But up in Wolvie's room, after a long shower,we find out why Wolverine is drunk. This is the anniversary of Wolvie's wedding to Mariko that didn't happen. Before we can get more from this very very saddened Wolverine the mansion is attacked. By a being calling himself the Horde. Horde is uber powerful. And over the course of the issue manages to kill/take out all of the X-men besides Wolverine. At the end we get shown how powerful Wolvie's healing factor actually is. And I was very impressed by this the first time I read it. As I had said before to me Uncanny X-men peaked with issue 200 and went downhill fast. I have sold off most of my X-men collection. Which at one time went from issue 100 to issue 300. But this annual is one of the few issues from that run that I enjoy enough to own. Sure I got it in one of the many Marvel Essential X-men trades, but that is b/w. If you enjoy the X-men track down this annual. While there is a few small parts that won't make much sense unless you have read all the issues from this era, outside of those tiny parts the rest of the story is written to be read by people with very little prior knowledge of the X-men. Uncanny X-men Annual #11 gets a BUY! This, the Brood return, and the Uncanny INFERNO issues are probably the best parts of the Post Mutant Massacre/Pre Jim Lee period of Claremont's X-Men run. The Brood return was fun. But I hated Inferno. It is what made me quit reading Uncanny. I still got the issues every month, had a mail order subscription. But Inferno was so bad I didn't read much Uncanny until around issue 281.

With Selina showing up in the City of Bane arc, and Batman/Catwoman following that, where exactly does the Catwoman ongoing title fit into all of this continuity wise? Is Jones just going to ignore it? What if Bruce and Selina do end up married at the end of Bat/Cat?

So, if I'm reading this right, the implication is that Marvel might be doing a run of Spider-Man based on the Sam Raimi movies. Is... is that something people were clamouring for?

The way Twitter blew up yesterday about it, wouldn't be shocked if they changed their minds about whatever this was in reference too (I figured it was related to bringing FF into the MCU) and they were now working on Spider-Man 4 as a comic book 'adaptation.'
Or hell, maybe they fully realized how big Into the Spider Verse was and are signing Tobey up to do something movie related with the MCU *AS* another Peter Parker.

But Inferno was so bad I didn't read much Uncanny until around issue 281. For me Inferno is when the X-titles became "Hey every year we are gonna cross over and to understand this massive crossover you gotta read every X-title" and that interfered with lots of the X-titles writers plans. For me the golden age of X-men is issues 100 thru 200. Once Xavier left and Magneto took over the team it just wasn't as good to me. But I have come to learn that my tastes in comics and the online comic community's taste are very different. For example I hated Morrison's All Star Superman series and loved Miller's All Star Batman and Robin series. Another example is how most of the comic fans love Jim Lee's art. And I think he does good covers and posters but his storytelling skills are crap.

So the Spider-Man tweet from yesterday is not related to a Spider-Man 4 comic book or anything regarding Tobey Maguire (for now), and the twitter flak toward the Marvel tweets in the matter are as expectedly cruel & brutal as a man with a chainsaw losing his mind in a maternity ward.

Specifically it's a countdown.
The Tobey McGuire thing seemed completely out of left field... anyway.

According to Cebulski it's something we won't see coming?
I want to say it's an OMD reversal, or a Sins Past reversal, but it's never one of those

I want to say it's an OMD reversal, or a Sins Past reversal, but it's never one of those Sins Past will never be reversed... because even reversing it means they'd need to bring it up. and the current MO is to never mention it as a thing and hope people forget.

Meanwhile in ASM, Peter & MJ are back together so........in some weird twisty way maybe this is the *best* time to undo OMD: when it wouldn't jolt the status of Peter Parker as incredibly as if he was with someone else and had a whole new life.

There isnt really a need to undo OMD anymore.
They got back together, let it die and move on.
Plus, it definitely isnt something we wouldnt see coming, as it's pretty much Top 3 guesses from everyone.
MJ Pregnant again? May finally dies? Something with Silk and not Peter at all?

Wow, no one say that coming in the slightest, Mr. Cebulski.
