Already theories going around that it IS Ultimate Reed/The Maker and not really Xavier Too obvious. Hickman is never that obvious. I rode with Hickman through the Future Foundation stuff (which i hope the MCU cherrypick from for their movies), so im sure as hell strapped in for what a real writer can do with the x-men universe.

Going by today....the same thing as everyone else. Time travel/alt. universe stuff, as usual.

My favorite theory is that none of them are real and just Krakoa clones Yeah, this is a pretty interesting idea that House of X is all a misdirection and that it's really a story of a Krakoa invasion. I haven't read any X-title in close to 15 years. But Krakoa as in that living island that the team fought in Giant Sized #1?

So anybody reading the current Guardians of the Galaxy run? Sure it's been mostly emo and dark but I'm enjoying the run. I actually like how they are handling Quill Cates is pretty good with this book and Venom

Unfortunate to read - considering that for many years / decades, DC and the whole publishing wing had (and still has?) been one of the few brands under Warner to constantly turn a profit. But ultimately, if AT&T doesn't give a crap about comics except for the IP value in new movies, then....... *sigh*.....

Inquiry.
Is there any Superman comics set in the Superman the Movie universe or is that restricted to movie adaptions?

Is there any Superman comics set in the Superman the Movie universe or is that restricted to movie adaptions? Pretty much just the adaptations; and even then only 3, 4 and Superman Returns got adaptations (and Returns got a series of one-shots which served as preludes to the movie - by the 2000's, the traditional movie adaptation comic had been retired). Bendis did work the Nuclear Man into an early issue of his Superman run (briefly), and years back Jeph Loeb played with the idea of Otis as part of the comics when Luthor was President.

I can’t speak on specifics, but I have some longtime associates working at DC, and they’ve felt the sting. Not “no comics tomorrow” bad, but notable enough that the news/editorials aren’t far off from the internal perspective.

This right here: To anyone who thinks AT&T or Disney don't see it this way is fooling themselves. Both parent companies see almost zero value to keeping a current comic industry going. The ONLY thing that's keeping Disney from swinging the axe is the MCU. DC doesn't really have that defense. But yeah, it won't be tomorrow, but it's coming soon. DC - and Marvel - will not be what you think of them now in the not-too-distant future.

What’s the average age of the average person with a pull list at a brick and mortar comic shop? Gotta be 40+. Most “comic fans” now are fans of the IP’s, not so much comics themselves. All those kids wearing Spider-Man gear, 95% of them have likely never read a comic. I don’t think kids are grabbing comics at the gas station for long car rides now. Hell, probably 50% or more of adults wearing that stuff probably have read one in 10 years if ever

No one is feeling the change more than comic shops. There's a long list of reasons why most physical stores are suffering, and to be fair, some of it is stubbornness to adjust their business models.
Whatever the case, over 200 comic shops have closed throughout North America and the UK in the last 24 months. Going to cons and trade shows, you don't see some of the people that were constantly there over the last decade+.

Tom King confirmed on a podcast that Batman/Catwoman will be a direct sequel to Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, which is now considered official canon.
We knew going in that the Phantasm was going to be the villain, but the fact the entire film is now part of official mainline DC lore is kind of nice...also makes me suspect Selina and Bruce will be engaged again seeing as Phantasm was the first woman Bruce proposed to

Oh Brilliant Tom King is gonna ruin Mask Of The Phantasm now Plus it's already had a sequel But then that'd require Tom King to give a shit about lore or history.

Listened to the podcast, King says The Joker portion of the Phantasm canon will be left out so as to maintain secrecy on his origins (since the DCAU version is a bit more explicit about his past)
King dissaproves of the name Batman/Catwoman. He wanted to call it simply BatCat, but DC wanted it to sell better with the Batman label on it.
DC's big change for Batman is still scheduled to happen at the end of Batman/Catwoman#12 in early 2021.

Dear Mr. King
If you want to put Andrea Beaumont into comic continuity then write your own damn Andrea Beaumont story to put her in continuity. Don't just say "'Mask of the Phantasm' is now in continuity, but only the parts that work for my needs". It's lazy and stupid.
