I'm okay with a possible love rectangle in Hickman's X-Men run if it should come to pass. What better way to show how mutants are different from humans than have the X-Men engage in open, polyamorous relationships when humans are too tied to sequential monogamy. We already have Krakoan as a mutant language. Back in the Morrison days, I liked the idea of mutant art and culture that emerged independent of human art and culture. If Hickman eventually wants to make the X in X-Men stand for "experimentation," then he should go all the way with it: Logan and Jean, Logan and Emma, Jean and Emma, and Scott and Logan hooking up, for example, would probably resolve a lot of the personal problems between those characters. If the X-Men comics want to portray a unique mutant culture, that's great. If they want polyamory to be apart of that culture, that's fine. But if they're gonna do that they need to demonstrate some kinda of societal reason for why they would adopt that cultural trait. Without it it's not about culture, it's just the book humoring the authors kink and his piss-poor interpretation of the characters histories with each other. I think it could work given one of the laws of Krakoa: "make more mutants." We're on a few months into Hickman's stewardship of the X-books, granted, so there hasn't been enough real world time and comic book time for X-Men to start having children, on top of the pod people resurrections we've seen in HoX. Even then, I don't think possible polyamory in the X-books needs a societal reason to exist and to be practiced. While it definitely can be aligned to a mutant biopolitics, it shouldn't have to be. We shouldn't demand that Mystique and Destiny, or Shatterstar and Richter, or Cyclops and White Queen, to have some sort of societal reasons to legitimate their romances. Besides, haven't books that humour the authors' kinks has been part and parcel of X-Men lore since the Claremont and Byrne days?

I say it's part "make more mutants" and part of an effort to put these differences behind them at this point and they worked out a relationship that works for everyone. Think their big celebration during House/Powers of kind of foreshadowed it a bit.

As a fan of monogamy, I guess the X-Men books aren’t for me.

Spider-Verse#2 was really cosy with it's depiction of Spider-Mam's family unit. It was as if I was reading Renew Your Vows only Aunt May was the star.

Wow..this 2099 event is off to a really shaky start. In Amazing Spider-Man {Spoiler}Miguel catches up with Peter after spending two issues fighting off weird purple hulks and glitching in and out of reality, he tells Peter something's wrong with time...and then glitches out totally I would not bother with Fantastic Four 2099 btw {Spoiler}After spending the whole issue coming to together and bonding with one another, the entire team are killed by HERBIE The Robot

Frankly, I don't know why that Catwoman title exists anymore, it's trailing behind in regards to developments with Selina. People originally went nuts when Joelle Jones was announced as writer/artist of that book, but I'm guessing those good vibes have faded...?

People originally went nuts when Joelle Jones was announced as writer/artist of that book, but I'm guessing those good vibes have faded...? Some find her book dull, some still like the run. I enjoy it a lot, but personally just find it pointless, it's become a prequel, Tynion and King have moved Selina past the status quo in that book and sabotaged Jones. It still makes money though, so I can't feel not too bad for her.

I wish Selina was still Gotham's kingpin, I liked that run.

Was page 4 from issue 1 of Hardcase from Malibu's Ultraverse line. Won it at the annual Coast Con auction. Sold it about 2 years after I got it.

Wow..this 2099 event is off to a really shaky start. Glad I decided to take a break from ASM for this story, something about it seemed off (or perhaps "I need to cut back so I gotta ignore something" excessive, which I mostly did with Absolute Carnage too) - although it sure looks pretty from what I saw when I flipped thru some pages at the store - especially 2099 Alpha.
