Nova, sweet...... Darkhawk, very sweet.....
And Phyla-Vell. Interesting. Haven't seen her since the end of DnA's GOTG when she was the new Quasar (hey Marvel, bring back the old Quasar) and Thanos very much killed her.
Tallest one way in the back has gotta be Groot. I suspect Adam Warlock's on the right.

And the full image is out: Groot, Adam Warlock, Surfer and Star Lord round out the team. Interesting line up.

Figured Starlord was in front after I noticed the X pose with guns.
was kinda hoping for a left field choice for what ended up being Groot... like having it be a member of the Brood.

So this is basically a mash-up of the Annihilators and the part of the "original" (Annhilation/Annihilation Conquest) era GotG that were tossed away after a few issues? Weird.

When he was first brought into the cosmic stuff, I wasn't sure how I felt about Darkhawk being part of that stuff, but he really looks like he belongs in that image.

They started building up the cosmic elements of his character (the Raptors) a bunch over recent years -- IIRC it started in War of Kings, then went by the wayside for a long while -- but it seemed, at first, like they were just trying to hit the gold they found with Nova again with another teen(ish) New Warriors hero, and when it didn't take off they put him away for a while. From what I've seen of his recent usage, they found a way to make it work pretty well. Good for Darkhawk.

I like Jason Aaron but after reading this week's Thor, I'd imagine all his story pitches are:
"So it starts off like this, and then this happens AND THEN LOKI!!!!"
"Ugh. Loki again, Jason?"
"ALWAYS LOKI!!!!"

So in ground shaking news Nightwing is going to be calling himself Ric Grayson.
Which is a thing.

So in ground shaking news Nightwing is going to be calling himself Ric Grayson. Which is a thing. Yeah, he's lost his memory and developed a new personality, and is calling himself Ric. Because Fabian Nicieza and Scott Lobdell said so. Dick will be back when he gets his memory back, but who knows how long that will take. Sooner if sales tank. And fan reaction is almost 100% negative to the whole story, so probably not that long... I like Jason Aaron but after reading this week's Thor, I'd imagine all his story pitches are: "So it starts off like this, and then this happens AND THEN LOKI!!!!" "Ugh. Loki again, Jason?" "ALWAYS LOKI!!!!" Aaron's Thor is boring me now. He needs to get to his big blow off story and move on. It feels like it was in a holding pattern for ages while editorial dragged out Jane Thor because it was selling well, and so now his big beats dont really fit with what other characters, like Loki, are doing elsewhere. Though that is a huge problem for Marvel as a whole. There is a real lack of editorial big picture over sight. Characters can literally appear in 2-3 different books in the same month acting totally differently, to the point of one version making the other make no sense.

So Carol Danvers......hrm.... (Life of Captain Marvel #4 spoiler - a big origin altering one) {Spoiler}{Spoiler}She was a Kree the whole time. Because her mom was a Kree warrior who fled to Earth, meaning the incident that gave Carol her powers wasn't (as it's always been assumed) a radioactive accident that created her powers.....it just activated her Kree DNA.
And I guess you can call her Carol, because.........her Kree name was/is Car-Ell.
......I don't know if this drives me crazy or not?

I mean it could be worse. "That wasn't Magneto. It was Xorn's twin brother we never mentioned before pretending to be Xorn pretending to be Magneto".
