The saddest part of all this is that I think Reigns could be a real asset in the right role for the company. He's a skilled performer with a solid look, but despite what the forced catchphrase may say, he's not the guy. Cena's main event stuff was overdone and got very old, however he had the in ring skills as well as mic work to keep some of the audience interested, not to mention he inspired passionate vitriol far more often than apathy, which is more than can be said for poor Roman.
Roman in his current booking has to be some of the most damaged goods of a main eventer in a very long time.

Seriously. Why haven't the crowds started huge, loud "FIRE ROMAN" chants yet?

Everyone's said it already but it's amazing that they just won't change on this Roman thing.
I really don't understand how this company has not realized that this guy could make them way more money as heel than as a face. It's just mind boggling.

Roman Reigns is like the world's worst self-insert character right now. He comes off as someone that's completely unqualified to be even near the main event scene, which is kinda sad, because he legitimately had potential at one point.

The Big Dog is too big of a dog to fail after being built up so much over the years. I did enjoy how Foley acknowledged that the crowd hates him, hopefully this will lead to him turning heel LIKE HE SHOULD BE IF HE WERE ON SDLIVE
perhaps getting screwed out of the US title and having of all people Seth Rollins having his back (who was also screwed by the Authority) will lead to a New Era Shield. I'm excited to guesstimate who the new 'Dean Ambrose' will be in that 3 Man Team

The worst thing about Reigns isn't the fact he's not over and they keep pushing him in the main spot. It's that he's constantly hurting whoever he works with. Rusev looks like shit because of Reigns, Owens looks like shit because of Reigns, it happens to everyone who works with the guy. Hell, the League of Nations turned 4 guys, who were somehow more over before that group, into worse crap purely for dude's benefit. He's horrible.

And I don't even know if the crowd would care at this point given their immediate reaction to the Shield triple threat starting up wasn't awed silence or dueling chants or, "This is awesome!", it was, "Roman sucks!"

Seriously. Why haven't the crowds started huge, loud "FIRE ROMAN" chants yet? Because by and large, they don't care about him. He inspires apathy more than anything else.

The only faces SmackDown really has are Cena who's leaving next month, Orton who's quickly becoming injury-prone, and Ambrose. Can't really afford to turn him.

Reigns would ruin Steve "Mongo" McMichael. This gif is like a really strange metaphorical performance art piece about overcoming your demons despite their size.

They also seem to think its the 80s and the crowd gives a shit about steel cage matches. They're usually terrible these days.

I watched so much television that wasn't pro wrestling tonight. It felt so daggone good. Er...um...on topic...yeah, Roman is the push that keeps on going. Two steps forward and then the boulder shoves you back three. No joke, Mysterydriver, I showed a friend John Carpenter's The Thing tonight instead of watching Raw. And a much, much better time was had.

This is leading into segments of Roman eating snowcones, beating his rivals in drag races when he runs their cars off the road, and revealing that he actually fathered all of Stephanie's children.
