I love how Cole mentioned that the issue of these two men started with the 2015 Rumble where they were the last two. Who would ever want to be reminded of that match? You know, where the crowd hated it so much they booed the "face" Roman to cheer on evil foreign heel Rusev (in Philly, birthplace of America no less).
We now have a situation where the U.S. champion can clearly beat the Universal champion and just did so on Raw, yet Reigns isn't being positioned for that title at the moment. Can anyone explain this booking or why Rollins is supposed to be a face when he's still so utterly unlikable?

I'm fine with it. Keeps him busy and away from the higher titles.

This will either go one of two ways 1. Roman finally goes heel, builds up his heel persona with the US Title, and helps also get over an Underdog Babyface, like Zayn 2. Roman mowes through the Midcard and loses the belt to some stupid Bullshit, remains a face, goes right back to the Main Event picture, no selling the fact he even lost the title. Sadly, I never see one happening, because it's too logical for Roman Reigns Booking... Number 2 is what what will happen.. And you can believe that, bbygrl.

I don't even understand why we dislike him anymore. Turn off the crowd noise, and just watch the booking of the match. Roman hit maybe 3 moves in that entire match.

Remember that weird feud where Batista was an absolute jerk to The Great Khali, including ruining a celebration party, before winning the title despite acting like such an unlikable bully?
Was that seven years ago? I can't remember that rule anymore...

I'm glad he won. Rusev doesn't need the U.S. Title, this frees him up to either tag with someone and get the Tag Titles, have a great feud with anyone other than Roman, or even get a shot at the WWE Title. And Roman being in the midcard can allow him to rebuild himself up since he won't be in the main event scene as much anymore.

If this isn't to set Rusev up for a main event run then I don't even know why do this. Lana and Rusev are going to be on Total Divas, Rusev's been killing it and he's one of the only legit heels you have. This was stupid. It's like every time Rusev tangos with Reigns he gets f***ed up.

I'm fine with it. Keeps him busy and away from the higher titles. Roman has been involved in the ending of Raw six straight weeks. This does nothing to change that, probably.

Rusevs' career in a nutshell: build up to be unstoppable monster heel who destroys everyone in his path. Put the U.S. title on him. Feed him to the current guy making McMahons dick hard. Rinse. Lather. Repeat.
Two words for ya RuRu: New Japan

I'm going to state the positive on this: having him win the US Title means he'll probably be kept out of the main event for the foreseeable future. My feeling as well. Of course they could always do champion vs champion. I have this scary image in my head of Roman holding up both the US and Universal titles triumphantly while the commentators verbally felate him and the crowd boos the ever living shit out of him.

I said it in the ppv thread, but if this will keep Roman away from the Universal Title picture for the next several months, then I'm all for it.
But, having thought about it for a while: Considering how dominant Roman's been over the last three years, I don't know which midcarders WWE is going to try to convince us actually stands a chance of beating him for the US Title. Bo Dallas? Jindar Mahal? Darren Young? Neville? Braaaaauuuuun? Hell, even Sheamus has proven to not be a threat to him. And almost everyone else on the roster is either a cruiserweight, part of a tag team, or hasn't been on Raw in weeks/months like Big Show and Mark Henry.
Seriously, what are they even going to do with him once Rusev loses his rematch? Just steamroll people until Rumble Season?

I don't understand at all what the point of this dude's push is anymore. Like, I'm not even bothered by it, I'm just confused. You have this massive roster full of talent and you strap the rocket on to one of the blandest guys on it, it's just silly. The only thing I can think of is his look..but there's no real demand for a long haired Samoan Fabio who at the moment is basically a slightly more talented Darren Young. So I don't really get it besides "this is our guy, so shut the f*** up".

I'm willing to give it a chance as I don't really mind Reigns that much, but add Rusev vs. Roman to the list of matches I don't want to see again for a little while.
