I wish that Bob Orton had kept the cast throughout his WWF run. I think he stopped wearing it late 85/early 86. Once he was done with Piper, unfortunately he was an afterthought but the cast at least gave him a great gimmick for the matches.

Trying to remember the time line but Kane crushed Shawn's throat as well but not sure what was wrong with Shawn. I know he had a torn Menisus after the first Taboo Tuesday where he wrestled with it but took time off after. Brock making Hogan blood internally. I don't think Hogan was hurt but he sold the attack and cameback for WM. Lets see. Kane took Shawn out cause Shawn legit broke his hand in the hiac with Triple H. Did some digging, Shawn also took a few months off to take care of his wife who was pregnant. As for Hogan, it was a contract dispute that put him out in 2002.

Shawn Michaeals collapsing in the ring (and not wrestling for a while) after sustaining kayfabe trauma from Owen Hart' spinning heel kick. This was a very believable angle.

Iron Mike Sharpe and his arm band "He had a legit hockey injury!" "Brain, it doesn't take 17 years for an injury to heal." *Speaking of which, when Greg Valentine started using that catcher's shin guard to "protect" his hurt leg.

I don't know it for a fact, but I just know it's true....HBK's back injury at Rumble with Taker. It's always been the narrative, but I think it was mostly a work to cover up what a complete f***ing mess he was at that point. I'm not saying there was no injury at all, but I think his main career ending injury was being a f***ing pillhead. That is what I have been thinking for a while now, too. I know he got surgery in his back, but to be out of action for nearly four and a half years (Or more than two years if you count that match he had in his promotion TWA), I think it was more of his personal demons than a back injury. Plus, it was said that in his match with Triple H at Summerslam 2002, he was fine after the match. He just did a damn good job at selling the injury. I know multiple people who have had back surgery and it has kept them out of doing light work for over a year, light work that would be much less than what would be required of a professional sports entertainer. Back surgery ain't no joke and if it was purely his demons, he wouldn't have been brought back 3-4 different times to do small things in the WWF at the time. The time off helped him get fully healed physically and mentally.

Shawn was supposed to come back sooner then he did to the WWE, because there was talks about him having angle that let to a match in 00, the set up was when HBK super Kicked The Rock. But I believe was what later told when HBK came back in the locker room for Raw I think he was needed, he was thrown out of the building for being a mess and no condition to do anything. Which was why after he super kicked the Rock on that Smackdown we didn't see him or got a reason from him. So he was gone. The only time we saw him until his return was his WWE NY at Armageddon 00. At the end it was for the better.
