This is not a shock. Even in the improved Season 2 they still scripted Danny Rand like the biggest jobber ever to grace a superhero show or movie. I dunno if I need spoilers but here goes: {Spoiler} He literally did nothing right or was even competent for about 8 or 9 episodes and didn't have the fist in over half of the episodes. Danny screwed up the triad negotiation deal early on, then got his ass kicked by Walker (not even Walker and Davos, just Walker by herself). Davos took the Iron Fist from him, later shattered his leg, and then eventually Danny realized what a wuss he was and just wanted Colleen to have the Iron Fist. That was some straight out of 1992 era PC comics stuff there, haha. Davos was season 2's best character along with Mary/Walker. It worked more as an ensemble since the main character was so poorly written they had to do something with everyone else.

To be honest, it may be good for all the Netflix Marvel universe to start winding down.
I'm sure the next season of Daredevil will wrap up the Fisk storyline, you've got season 3 of JJ to wrap up the Jessica/Patsy storyline and another season of Luke Cage could easily wrap up the story set up at the end of season 2.
Then just have Defenders seasons pop up every couple years.
Oh but keep the Punisher going for like another 5 seasons cause that is awesome.

I mean if it had been after season 1 I doubt anyone would have complained but season 2 was actually quite good I thought

A shame if only because Colleen Wing was great on that show. Sure Finn Jones was a bit miscast, but the sword of damocles was hanging since the poor reviews for season one. Also I enjoyed Alice Eve's turn as Typhoid Mary if only it was an interesting take on the character.

Darn.
I was looking forward to Colleen as Iron Fist, while Danny and Ward were having their adventures in Asia.

Just fold him into Cage's show and make it Heroes for Hire.

From the perspective of someone who only watches Jessica Jones:
The Defenders did nothing to help this series. I decided to watch The Defenders regardless of not having watched the other three shows, because I love Jessica Jones that much. While with the others I walked away with either the same opinion (I liked Luke Cage when he was on Jessica Jones, but not enough to want to commit to another series) or a positive one (I legit considered trying Daredevil, since I liked Matt more than I was anticipating), I absolutely could not stand Danny.
I feel bad, because I know multiple people who like the character from the comics and I wanted to like him too but it just did not happen. It's a shame that it sounds like it got better in its second season, only to get canceled.

Just fold him into Cage's show and make it Heroes for Hire. That's what everyone wants anyway. Both characters work so well together, and the team up episode of Luke Cage just happened to be most people's favorite appearance from Danny Rand on Netflix. It seems like a no-brainer. Honestly, this show deserved to be cancelled. Jeph Loeb knows what fans want from Iron Fist. They tell him all the time at convention panels. Yet knowing this, he gives vague responses to their questions then delivers on none of it. For example, two seasons plus The Defenders went by and he still didn't get a costume. If they'd established that Netflix was a costume-free zone it'd be one thing, but Daredevil was running around with horns on his head by the end of his first season. These are superheroes and fans want costumes.

This show was doomed and neglected from the start so not really a surprise

I haven’t gotten a chance to check out season 2 yet (I’m planning on doing it before Daredevil 3 this week), but I’m super bummed about this. It seemed like everyone hated season 1, but there was a lot I enjoyed. Plus Colleen Wing is my favorite character in the entire Netflix Marvel universe.

See, I thought Jessica Jones was easily the crappiest season 2 of any of these shows. I expected Jessica to face off with this sinister organization that was breeding mutants or super powered people or something and it was just this goofy doctor with a thing for her resurrected mom. I tend to think that Jessica Jones peaked with the Kilgrave storyline and that is pretty much all the show had to say. And really, Kilgrave is the sort of one note bad guy that would be the type of guy Batman figures out in like 1 episode of the Animated Series. Indeed I just watched and old season 3 episode of X-Files the other night with this dude called Pusher that could control people's thoughts and get them to commit suicide. And by the end of the episode he was soundly defeated by Mulder. With Kilgrave imagine that sort of one episode baddie except done over 13 episodes. He's entertaining but it's still just a drag.
Iron Fist was at least one my wife was fairly okay with watching since it at least had less bad language and gory violence than some of these other shows (why was it even TV-MA?). You can imagine her watching The Punisher or quite a bit of Jessica Jones, haha.

Maybe they can adapt the Seven Heavenly Cities Tournament arc into a movie.
Agreed on S2 of Jessica Jones being the worst of the Netflix Marvel shows

Maybe it's the character or the actor, but I just don't find Danny Rand to be interesting in the slightest.

He's fantastic what they did with Kingpin can't be stated enough. It was that good. And knowing that they will be giving us more of him with the way it looks, has me hyped. also, seeing him go toe to toe with Punisher in that jail scene was surreal.
