The company died 15 years ago so you'd expect a lot of them to be participating on the independent circuit since the majority are only in their 40's. The only wrestlers I can think of who did the ECW hardcore style that are still actively wrestling on the independent circuit are Ian Rotten (Ick), Masato Tanaka (If he counts), Raven (Who only works tag team matches because his body is wrecked), Rhino (Again, if he even counts as "hardcore"), Sabu (Who needs some type of surgery because his body is broken), Shane Douglas (Again, if he even counts) and Tommy Dreamer. Semi active you have Terry Funk and The Sandman.
Am I missing anyone? It's kind of sad to think that in 5-10 years the majority of the hardcore legends from ECW will most likely be completely retired.

New Jack and Mustafa both make appearances on the indies, as does RVD.

The hardcore style f***ed a whole lot of people's bodies up so there's no wonder most ECW alumni are either retired or dead.

Semi active you have Terry Funk Can cross that one off the list, I feel. He made an appearance at a show he was booked at a couple weeks ago and didn't wrestle, gave a retirement speech and left. He's in such bad shape now, the docs didn't even want him to get on the plane to go to the show.

Justin Credible and Gary Wolfe / Pit Bull #1.

I get why Douglas doesn't really count, but how would Tanaka not count? Dude's trademark was no-selling chairshots to the head.

New Jack and Mustafa both make appearances on the indies, as does RVD. I thought New Jack had retired about three years ago against Necro Butcher but a quick search has revealed that he made a return in July to wrestle Masada. I don't really class RVD as a hardcore blood and guts guy. Justin Credible and Gary Wolfe / Pit Bull #1. Credible retired last year I believe.

I wonder how Paul Heyman feels about his wrestlers being broken down. Paul is on top of the wrestling world with Brock as his real life client. I wonder if ever made good on his checks for the wrestlers.

If Paul Heyman gave a damn about anyone but Paul Heyman he would never have sent guys out there to batter oneanother with chairs in the first place.

I wonder if ever made good on his checks for the wrestlers. If I had to guess, I'd say he probably doesn't care in the least. And I'm pretty sure I remember reading somewhere that Vince covered Heyman's debts when he acquired ECW.

With all the crazy, f***ed up things that New Jack has pulled though the years, how the hell does he keep getting booked?

With all the crazy, f***ed up things that New Jack has pulled though the years, how the hell does he keep getting booked? For that exact reason. People want to see him do something crazy and f***ed up therefore he's a draw. Not a BIG draw but I'm sure he sells a few tickets for the smaller indy shows.

He's due for another Gypsy Joe/Mass Transit/Vic Grimes moment any second now.
