Bleach gets the pick for me by default, since I haven't really watched/read Naruto. Only by default, 'cause that final arc just dragged on, and on, and on, and on for me. Even before that my brain was just on autopilot while reading the manga. There were some interesting bits, but 90%+ of the time I just read the manga with the intent of reaching the end due to a sort of strange obligation to finishing it, since Bleach was roughly one of the first manga I ever read. Now, one other series that has went on for way too long is Hajime no Ippo. 1000+ chapters already, and at this point it just feels like a slow crawl. Also, one other gripe I got with Bleach is that for most part it just felt like the story would just go nuts with ridiculous powers one after the other. By the time Aizen's arc ended, it was just too much. Kubo actually wrote himself into a corner with one of the Sternritters at the end. Gerard actually couldn't be killed. I don't think any of the characters could actually kill him in combat, because he'd just miracle his way back to life and with greater power. So Kubo had to cop out the end of that fight. Actually for that matter the whole, "Yhwach just takes their powers back" was a cop out he probably used against Giselle as well because I think she was also unkillable with her power.

Now, one other series that has went on for way too long is Hajime no Ippo. 1000+ chapters already, and at this point it just feels like a slow crawl. Honestly, it feels a lot like Ippo is slowly getting ready to wind down with the current shenanigans going on. Like he might have one fight left and then they'll end it. This kinda ties into the One Piece versus Fairy Tail thread, but even as early as the start of the fight with the Quincy's, it felt like every fight had turned into one of those school yard "cops and robbers" things (or a RP fight where both sides are horrible cheese monsters), where each side kept pulling out stronger and stronger bullshit. By the end, it had gotten to the point where - as Koda said - Kubo wrote himself into a corner and had to pull some MORE bullshit to get out of it. It could be because I'm more forgiving of magical shenanigans, but it doesn't bug me as much when it happens in Fairy Tail. I mean, the idea of these mages experimenting to work on new spells, or getting access to/creating new items is fine. And I think one of the more OP characters in the series, Erza, hasn't really gained any new 'spells' (armors) in a long-ass time. Instead, she's just been gaining more pure magical strength and stamina, which - to me - is okay.

I feel that there will be more than one more fight for Ippo, not to mention the others. I suppose one other reason why I feel fatigued on the series is that the recent string of opponents for Ippo and co. are usually not as interesting as before. There was no substance to it. You'd be introduced to this zany power one chapter, and after a while there's another power to trump that power, and so on and so forth. All the way up to the last chapter, {Spoiler}Where Ichigo's kid effortlessly deals the killing blow to the final arc's villain. Like, for reals, the last power that felt cool to me was Gin's bankai. Pretty simple gimmick, but pretty cool.

I suppose one other reason why I feel fatigued on the series is that the recent string of opponents for Ippo and co. are usually not as interesting as before. The "problem" with Hajime no Ippo is that we have all this amazing build-up that we don't even have an idea when they will be delievered (Takamura becoming World Heavyweight champion, Ippo vs Miyata (seriously, get this out of the way. Miyata is boring as crap if Ippo's not involved), Ippo vs Ricardo Martinez, one of Aoki/Kimura finally getting a title and retiring, Sendo vs the world, etc.) which makes it seem that everything's been turning on the same wheels over and over since the main goals are not within reach story wise. And Hajime no Ippo lives of of the main characters striving to get to those goals (and how well written they usually are. Especially Takamura. He's ace.), so everything seems "meh" by comparison in the last few years. Berserk was also getting to that point but we are now getting to one of the moments everyone wants to see and anticipating if/how much shittier Guts life can get.

It doesn't help that Hajime no Ippo just feels... I dunno, more slowly paced than usual, so it feels like there's still so much to happen before any of those goals happen. Not sure if slowly paced is the right word for it, but it generally feels that updates on the whole feel a lot slower compared to other series. Still, Sendo remains cool, and Alexander Volg Zangief is still the manliest name in the series.

Taking a dive isn't even the word. The Pain arc is my favorite arc and the shit after was disappointing sans the first Ten Tails appearance The Pain arc followed by the Hidan/Kakuzu arc were my favorites in Naruto, I could watch those over and over.

Naruto didn't end with a Deus Ex Machina plot device that was introduced LITERALLY the chapter before it was used, so it wins by default.
One Piece is still leagues above both of them in my opinion, though.
