Right off the bat you're in the best possible place to fly from. Tickets alone, I'd be surprised if round-trip it was over $900. Sweet! Thank you sir

Not to impose, but what would you estimate the cost of this entire trip would be, room and tickets included? Considering doing this for 2018 with F4W. For me it was about $3000 if I'm doing the math correctly. $2100 for the flights, nonstop from San Francisco to Narita, and then back from Narita with a stop in Seattle before Sacramento. $560 for six nights at a reasonably good hotel, I'm sure you could do cheaper than that but I specifically wanted this one. Floor level ramp-side seats were dirt cheap compared to Wrestlemania, those were $130 or so. And then the rest was for food, transportation, and bullshitting because I was a strapping young lad in Tokyo, haha. But I was in a situation where I had a blank check kind of deal, long story. I'm sure you could do it much cheaper. Haha I'd kill for a blank check. But still, three grand is much less than I figured. I could do damage with that. Would like to hit up indie shows in the area as well as WK12 of course.

Katsuyori Shibata beat Zack Sabre Jr to win the British Heavyweight Championship at RPW Global Wars U.K. on Thursday, and successfully retained it against Chris Hero the next day. He just lost the NEVER Openweight Championship, isn't currently involved in a major feud, and has no match set for the Dome currently.
Now.. call it wishful thinking, but my first thought was Shibata will defend the belt against Sabre again at WK, or at the very least defend the belt on the show.

Shibata will more than likely be part of a multi men tag match against NOAH. That or he has another match against Go Shiosaki. All depends on if NJPW can get outsiders for the Dome and if their working agreement with NOAH is still good. Besides ZSJ is a legit junior heavyweight. He isn't wrestling someone considered a heavyweight and potential IWGP contender like Shibata in a one on one match on their biggest show.

I have this fear that he'll end up facing Cody Rhodes at WK. I don't know how everyone else feels, but I don't want to see that at all.

Shibata just won back the Never title from EVIL at the NJPW Singapore show. You should probably use spoilers, the show just happened earlier today.

I would love to see Shibata vs ZSJ at WK. I really hope they don't do Shibata/EVIL pt. 15, not only because it's been done to death, but the matches haven't been that great. As far as people complaining about ZSJ not being a heavyweight, isn't the point of the title to branch both divisions?

Break the cycle, Kenny and Naito. F*** the aces. As of now, I'm pulling for Kenny and Tanahashi. I don't know what it is about Tanahashi but I love the dude.

Yeah. I'm not into Omega winning. Tanahashi/Naito I'm cool with whoever comes out on top.

Count me in the "I hope Omega loses" camp. I'll admit he's a great wrestler all day long, but personally, I've never liked Kenny Omega. The wacky/comedy shit just isn't my cup of tea, and even without that, I'm just not that into him.
As far as Tanahashi/Naito is concerned, I guess I'll go with Team Naito. I'm a big fan of both guys, but I like Naito just a little more.

I love Kenny and Okada both, but as a longtime fan of Kenny I need to see my boy rise through the ranks and win in the main event show at the Tokyo Dome. His meteoric rise has already been awesome but that would cement it for me. The match will assuredly be a classic regardless. The only thing that could make it better is if we get the Ibushi vs Omega feud on the biggest stage.

Omega has to win, if he doesn't it'd be the fifth year in a row since they started doing it that the G1 winner failed to win at Wrestle Kingdom. What'd even be the point of winning the tournament if they always lose anyway?

Completely for Omega winning here, and I like Okada. Omega is the f***ing man, loves Japan and has always been a consistently amazing performer to me since I discovered him in ROH. The time to strike with him is now as champion, then go forward with him vs Naito.

What'd even be the point of winning the tournament if they always lose anyway? Because kayfabe. In kayfabe it's not a given that you'll lose at WK. It's not like winning it means that you'll get a WK main event match but lose.

I'd love to get over to one of these. Do you mind me asking if it was expensive or difficult to get sorted for it? Still figuring it out, tbh. Good friend of mine (who has been to Tokyo about 8 times) and I (never been but beat Piston Honda a lot on Punch-Out) made these plans after WK9. We buy our tickets November 12th which we figured out is the cheapest day to buy Japan tickets from North America. We both have friends in Tokyo helping us with acquiring tickets/finding accommodations, but if you're making the trip, close great seats apparently aren't all that comparatively expensive. Not to impose, but what would you estimate the cost of this entire trip would be, room and tickets included? Considering doing this for 2018 with F4W. So, I bought my tickets. Round trip from Minneapolis with one stop each way it came to $1,363, with the next least expensive flight being around $1,600 so I went and purchased the $89 flight insurance (shouts out to MN winters). Two things: 1) Definitely go through Expedia. I tried looking up my exact flights on the airlines' individual websites, and the total pre-taxes came about $1,800, so however Expedia works it's saving me a grip. 2) Normally when I throw down for a trip, even when it's only $300-$500 domestic, I get this weird anxiety/hesitation about it. Not this time. Clicking that last click was downright empowering. I must have set my Expedia to 'Strong Style.'

I'm on board the Kenny train for this show. No slight on Okada, but Kenny winning opens up more interesting possibilities, at least in my opinion. Also sends a huge "new era" message if the first gaijin G1 winner ends a Dome show holding up the big strap.
With the IC match, I'm cool with whichever guy wins; no matter how much "LOL Tana wins" we get over the years, I don't think I can ever really get sick of Tanahashi, and Naito is probably the 2016 MVP, so I hope they just let it rip.
If Shibata is going to face NOAH in some form, I hope it's a singles match.

Hopefully New Japan already got Omega and the Bucks under new contracts because we know WWE wants them and they are willing to go there if the money is right & they are a package deal. Be a damn shame that they give Kenny all these accolades and he still dips out NJPW.
