I've thought twice about Robert Vaughn lately - regarding that recent Batman '66/UNCLE comic, and those old law office commercials he used to do - and ended each rememberance with "Man, how long does he have left I wonder..." RIP sir. I liked you in BASEketball, and dang it even though it was an atrocious movie you were quite a good pick to play a Superman (III) villain. And with Leonard Cohen, that's two. And since it's been reported now that Cohen died on Nov 7, which is when Janet Reno died too, that's 3.

Damnit... loved "The Man From UNCLE" whenever it was on, and he was great in movies like "The Magnificent Seven", "Battle Beyond Their Stars", even in bad movies like "Joe's Apartment" and "Hanger 18" he was always bringing his all.
Rest in peace, sir.

I hate the "comes in threes" shit. Look at recent deaths on Wikipedia, every day a dozen or so famously people die. Yet people only list three people that they have heard of. Using Janet Reno as en example, who is she? (I actually know her because she was in Ally McBeal A lot of people outside the US wouldn't know her. Jimmy Young also died on the 7th. He was a legendary broadcaster in the U.K. but was he known outside his own country? How do you gauge which three are "worthy" of being considered amongst the "three"?
As for Robert Vaughn. The last of The Magnificent Seven has died. Truly a sad day. RIP.

Oh, and he had a wrestling connection - people forget that Hogan made him a member of the NWO while they were shooting a film together:

Sad news - he was one of those actors who was always around, you know? He's made so many films that you just got used to him always being around.

Think of him from The Magnificent Seven, Bullitt, and law firm commercials. I was surprised he didn't have more sustained success in major movies.
I don't know how well he was the last couple of years, but I'm somewhat surprised he wasn't tapped to make cameos in the recent films The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and The Magnificent Seven.
