I was reading a (fairly terrible) online article about ten wrestlers who will almost certainly be in the WWE in 2017, and both Matt and Jeff were mentioned.
It got me thinking about the Dudley Boys, and even though Bubba did some great work reinventing himself as a main event calibre heel in TNA, Vince clearly didn't want to know, and so the Dudleys were brought back on a 100% nostalgia run, re-doing the same old ancient shit.
So would the Hardy's be any different? If Vince gets the chance to bring back Matt and Jeff Hardy again, I can't see him entertaining the absurdity of Broken Matt one bit, and all I could see is the Hardy Boys back again, maybe even with Lita in tow.
What do you think?

As a manager, definitely.
Unfortunately Matt has gotten pretty limited inside the ring, so I don't see him being especially useful as a regular nostalgia act.

If he's allowed a certain level of creative control, I don't see why not. It depends on how long a leash McMahon is willing to give Matt.
He'd do better on Smackdown than RAW. The red show's format tends to make a lot of segments drag on too long, and the writing would be too sitcom-y.
But one or two Hardyz vignettes on Smackdown weekly, and the odd live match? Then he'd do fine.

I don't particularly like the gimmick period but even the majority of people that do point out that it doesn't really work in TNA when he has to actually step into the ring.

He could be Sister Abigail
You see... we misheard Bray all this time. It's MISTER Abigail.

It would work on NXT. I still think the majority of casual viewers will be wondering why one of the Hardy Boyz is taking like that.
With Bully Ray, it's a more aggressive and heelish version of his Dudley character. Broken Matt is so far removed from any of his WWE gimmicks.

Itll fall apart the minute he has to have an actual match live in a ring.

You know how much hell people give Bray Wyatt when he does the supernatural stuff with the special effects like the hologram ghost. Imagine how much blowback Broken Matt would get doing the same things. The gimmick can't work live in regular matches. Just like how everyone was in love with Bray when he first debuted, folks are going to get tired of Matt. Maybe not next week but sooner than later.

No
The home movies of the Hardy brothers are best suited for a desperate TNA

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but Broken Matt is barely working in TNA. It's a real cool idea and good on him for getting it to be as big as it is, but I feel its already worn out its welcome.

Only if Vince only throws money at him and doesn't meddle.

It'd need to be heavily protected. It isn't impossible for it to work, but it'd probably require having Jeff with him to carry the slack, as well as maybe even just relegating Matt to basically a manager.

He'd have a great feud with Miz and guys like Ambrose who can play off that. Depends on his opponents.

It would have to be done the same way, being mostly filmed backstage and at the Hardy Compound in a cinematic way.
I do think they could do a Hardy Boyz nostalgia run without those characters as long as Matt is only in tag matches.

Given a lot of what works for Matt in TNA is basically everything gimmicky that takes place outside of the actual ring off site, you'd have to think he would be ideally suited to filming some original content for the Network.

The ideal place for them is a show of them just defending the Hardy compound from new foes every week completely separated from in ring stuff.
