I rather they start over if they don't think the script was bad rather than making a bad film. At least they are trying to right some mistakes. These are the same people that thought BVS and Suicide Squad were good scripts, so I'm not so certain their judgment is the best. Pfft... are you telling me that the world's greatest detective not knowing that Superman was Clark Kent (when a freakin' reporter figured it out within like 25 minutes in the first movie) is a bad script?

Smells to me like Affleck thought it might tank so he's stepping away from the job that will bring him disrepute.

Honest question here. If Wonder Woman and Justice League turn out to be huge hits as well as critically acclaimed. Does DC/WB rebound from this and Affleck possibly gets back into the fold?

Ben Affleck should just write and direct a movie about a guy trying to write and direct a superhero movie facing huge studio interference and pressures to catch up to a rival studio whose own superhero cinematic universe is unstoppable.
He can then mock and ridicule Warner Brothers. He should have shitloads of material for a solid screenplay by now.

He was in the shithouse in Hollywood for a few years and bounced back in a huge way. BVS and Suicide Squad have been pseudo-stinkers..and if JL and WW follows suit..hell, even Afflecks last film was kind of a dud. Edit: by the by...this might mean no Deadshot, huh?? After showing footage and casting him! lmfao, DCCU is the new LOLTNA

WB prefer to write their scripts during the shooting of the film.

My assistant manager and I were discussing the struggles of DC attempting to establish their cinematic universe. He mentioned that he believes if they utilized the CW's Arrow and Flash by integrating them into this universe, the buzz would've been insane, and more it's a probability that the films would've been better received seeing as both Flash and Arrow are already established in their television concepts.
If Wonder Woman and Justice League turn out to be huge hits, most likely DC will breath a sigh of relief and Affleck will most likely get back fully on board.

So basically Batman Fink? Yeah, something like that. He could incorporate the Snyders into the screenplay, who persist in offering terrible advice for how they'd interpret the superhero character, and their insistence on making every scene dark and gritty.

I just hope this isn't another DC dark, humorless 2 hour endurance test. I know it likely will be, but I'm still holding out hope. Call me crazy, but I enjoy going back and watching Batman & Robin more than any of the Nolan Batman films. I still argue that none of them were that good except for The Dark Knight (And that was only because of Heath Ledger's God status acting).
I guess it's because I grew up with them, but for me, the Burton movies will always be the perfect Batman movies. I think they have the right amount of dark and goofy.
For DC's sake, I hope they don't f*** up this, Wonder Woman, or Justice League. If they do, it's about time to just wave the white flag as far as their movies are concerned.

The problem they have is that this entire cinematic universe is based on Man of Steel's style and aesthetic, which was terrible to begin with. If you start from the wrong point, it's incredibly difficult to get it right again without a reboot. WB will keep failing until they release they have to start again afresh, and even that depends on getting it right when they attempt it again, which I doubt they will. They don't have the patience for it. The idea they wanted to "catch up" to Marvel with just a few shitty movies shows how deluded they are. They will never succeed in the Snyder-verse they've based their films on.
