I liked Apes and I liked Cloverfield, so that's good.
First bit of good news in months. Let's see how they f*** it up WWE style.

The problem they have is that this entire cinematic universe is based on Man of Steel's style and aesthetic, which was terrible to begin with. If you start from the wrong point, it's incredibly difficult to get it right again without a reboot. WB will keep failing until they release they have to start again afresh, and even that depends on getting it right when they attempt it again, which I doubt they will. They don't have the patience for it. The idea they wanted to "catch up" to Marvel with just a few shitty movies shows how deluded they are. They will never succeed in the Snyder-verse they've based their films on. If there last 2 movies where anywhere near MOS, then the universe would at least ok.

Jesus, just get Bruce Timm. He'd be cheaper, he's been working for WB for nearly 3 decades, and he's got an incredibly successful track record with Batman. Plenty of directors have made the jump from animation to live action, so he should at least be considered.

Like I said, despite being heavily flawed, I liked the previous movies but I'm in the minority. Their movies have not been well received by critics or fans and it's their own fault. They have no clue what they're doing. Jesus, it's frustrating being a DC fan.

Seems talks broke down because Reeves wants more power and WB doesn't want to give it up

We don't need to see what they did to Barbara Gordon ever again.

I hate to say it but I think this film could use a big name director. I don't mean Michael Bay. But a director that WB can't push around or intimidate which is why I am not solely against Gibson directing Suicide Squad 2.
The Batman could use a strong and powerful director that WB will hesitate in attempting to piss off. But I am wondering what happens if Wonder Woman and Justice League are huge hits?

Now it's getting frustrating. Just scrap everything and start from scratch. Focus on a JL TV series or something, so this universe can gain some footing.
Say what you will about the tone of the MCU, but when they started development, they played a better long-term game and slowly built the connections between the characters and their narratives.

At what point does Batman become a robot driving instructor who travels through time for some reason & his friend is a talking pie? Because that would be better than the grimderp "MARTHA!" World they have made.

Agreed. Marvel too their time with this, using the characters they still fully owned the movie rights to, and built everything from that first Iron Man movie up, establishing characters independently of each other, but with a little bit of connective tissue somewhere, like Nick Fury popping up etc. Then, everything was in place and Avengers made all the money. This is the thing EVERYONE ELSE who is trying a "Cinematic Universe" fails to grasp, not just DC, but DC/WB in particular. I try not to compare, but just imagine if the MCU went straight from Iron Man, to Civil War. That's what DC tried to do and it didn't work. DC saw Avengers doing so well, and once they were done with Nolan's trilogy (Dark Knight Rises came out the same year as Avengers), they decided they wanted that. They just were too impatient to lay the groundwork. They should have taken their time, NO ONE would have minded. A film a year, we'd be looking at Justice League in 2020. That's OK, because everything would be in place, have chance to breathe, and a lot of problems would be averted. If you do it right, people will be ready for it. (Pre-Edit Edit: I wrote out a "how I would do it" thing here that was too long and was pretty much the MCU model, just with DC characters. DC/WB shouldn't be too proud to just "follow the leader" here)

They had one from the jump in Ben Afleck and looked what happened.
