They were shown on a Saturday morning kid's TV show called WacADay here in the UK. I never liked them as much as I did Transformers, but it was an easy watch. However, while introducing an episode one of the presenters referred to the bad guys as 'the evil Decepticons', making ten year old me curse his stupidity to the TV screen.

The Saturday version was The Wide Awake Club. Wacaday was on during school holidays and was mon-fri. I was a huge fan of The Wide Awake Club, particularly the rather surreal occasional guest hosts who would do The Sound Asleep Club, one of which was a certain Mike Myers. Wacaday did have (the still lovely) Michaela Strachan though.

Yes.
I liked Go-Bots, far more than Transformers.
I remember nothing about Go-Bots now, and am a much bigger TF fan (since the '90s whena. Friend introduced me to the Simon Furman/Marvel UK comics).....
But in the '80s, Go-Bots were definitely part of my jam.

I remember getting the videos, and last time I caught it on tv was when Boomerang reran it alongside Sealab 2020 and Centurions.

I do remember the Mike Myers appearance - because they just tended to sleep a lot, I always got bored watching them. You're also right about the still lovely Michaela Strachan - Wacaday is some thirty years old, I'd estimate that she was early to mid 20s then and yet she looks like she's barely aged a day.

And I think Cy-Kill showed up in an IDW comic or two. Background filler. Didn't end well for him, from what I've heard.

Also from my understanding part of the problem with them is they have the names and profiles but not the designs themselves.

I didn't have much experience with Go-Bots, but I loved the spinoff, Rock Lords. I was always disappointed that they never got their own cartoon.

I miss the toy commercials I curse the OP by mentioning Go-Bots I had the songs from these ads stuck in my head. And I didn't even have to watch them first.

I had two different versions of Cy-Kill. The regular one, and then a black and gray version.
My favorite one was a Lamborghini named Spoiler.
It was a good lil toy line. They were smaller, and the transformations were simple; so they weren't as detailed as the Transformers, but you could take em to school or a friend's house easier and they were much cheaper.
Like I said before, for me, they were like mini-Transformers, and that's how I used em; like a slightly smaller race of Transformers.

Wasn't the Go-Bots movie basically a Go-Bots vs. Rock Lords thing? It was, but this was their only appearance, and it was missing several of the characters from the toy line. I really wanted a full series for them.
