I had this version of Cy-Kill. It was IIRC the last Go-Bot i ever purchased. Got him at Big Lots. He broke before I even got him home. The more I google images of Go-Bots the more of them I remember. I think my brother and I had more than I previously recalled.

Since most of the my GO bots were smaller I had them fighting my GI Joes most of the time. Or my Kenner Star Wars figures. I had more Go Bots than Transformers, mostly cause I would get them as gifts at birthdays or X-mas and I am sure the Go Bots were cheaper.

I loved the Go-Bots when I was a kid, I hated the rocklords however. those guys sucked! transforming rocks indeed. You be quiet. I loved toys that turned into ..... colorful ..... pieces of crap

I never had any run-ins with them during childhood. Never saw the cartoon, toys were a smidge before my time. I only became a Transformers fan when I was already an adult so that probably has something to do with it.

They were never the same after Leader-1 was sodomised. 'I said squeal like a piston, boy!'

I didn't even know Go-bots were a thing until I saw Clerks 2.

I was a kid and didn't really care about things like quality of either the toy or the show. So yes.

The song got on my six year old nerves, so I never got into them. That gold colored rocklord looks cute though.

I still remember the film and that rock with the Mohawk played by telly savalas was scary especially when cut down some white rocklord that was the first time I saw something that you could call horror or frightening on tv, I was three or four.

I often hear people who grew up in the 80s complain about how lame go-bots were. I never got that as i had lots of the toys as a kid and loved them. They even had alt-modes that transformers never had (were there any limo transformers?). Well in one universe: tfwiki.net/wiki/Stretch

Never got a chance to watch the show, but I would pick up the toys because they were cheaper than Transformers. Although they weren't as good as transformers. They were like Short Bus Transformers. Transformers = You Go-Bots = Your annoying kid brother

I tried watch the Gobots/Rocklords movie (yes that exists!) on YouTube a few years ago for a live tweet thing. I had to stop cause the voice acting was giving me a headache .. it was beyond awful. An interesting factoid about that movie (well, to me anyway). Sticks 'N Stones, the two headed Rock Lord, was voiced by both Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime) and Frank Welker (Megatron).

Two of my favorites from the line: The worst figures in the line were the bubble blowers. No actual articulation, they just had one joint in the torso to turn them into "pipes"

I think I may have had one of those bubble blowers. Though I'm not sure i realized it was for blowing bubbles. My brother had that green bug looking guy in the first pic.

I think my brother and I had more than I previously recalled. looks like a knockoff or recoloured ROBO MACHINES ..... the british version of GO-BOTS, who were part of the EAGLE COMIC lineup and loved reading them, and remember watching their cartoon series too, but that's way in the dim and distant past for me never was a transformers guy, either comic of cartoon
