There was a girl that was friendly to me, in elementary school. I invited her to my birthday party, one year, and that's when she told me that I wasn't pretty enough to deserve a birthday party. I stopped being friends with her, not because she said that to me, but she became even more vain.

So, I'd just been dumped by girlfriend. One of my best female friends invited me out to visit and cheer up.
So, I flew across the country, and was greeted by... nothing. She had me take a cab to her place.
She promptly set me down on the couch with a tiny blanket, and went upstairs to bang a 60 year old she met the week before. All night. On a squeaky bed.
We didn't talk for a year after that.

I think I'm the bad friend.
I'm constantly unable to make plans because of work commitments.
For example, a large number of my friends got together last Saturday to watch the two football games. It had been planned all week, but I was forced to bail at the last minute because of work obligations.
It happens a lot and I feel bad about it.

A friend I had dumped me because as I had figured out leading up to this, she was a massive hypocrite who was so selfish that she only considered how other peoples problems affected her, and had to the gall to complain to me that my attitude (which I had due to various real life issues including being recently diagnosed with depression) was constantly bringing her down.
I also found out later that she cut out another one of friends ona raod trip because she (the other friend) didn't hang out with everyone else that much.

I got friendly with a coworker at one point to the point that we got each other's contact information. We would talk to each other every night, even into the after hours (I even remember going to bed at 2 a.m. a couple of times after talking to this person). However, she later on asked to borrow money and I told her that I didn't want to do it. She ended up saying things like "I don't know why you need that money. It's not like you're paying rent." She also went so far as to say that if this girl I had a crush on asked to borrow money and I went ahead and let her borrow it, she would have stopped talking to me like that. She even tried to play the age card with me and say that I am at an age that I should make my own decisions and such. She said she needed $100 to pay off her rent, but that wasn't enough to pay for it and she obviously tried to manipulate me. I later on sent her an audio message ranting about the whole thing. We talked on the phone and then when someone called me, while talking to the other person, she ended up telling me not to call or text her again. We had a falling out. Sometimes I wonder if she felt like she was in the right for what she tried to do, when it was clearly wrong.

I once had a friend steal my dad's credit card info and rack up $1,000 in porn subscriptions under his name. It got blocked, fortunately. When we called to notify his parents, they replied with a casual "Yeah, he's done that before...".
I can count on one hand how many times I've seen my dad that visibly and audibly angry.
It was one of the very few times my parents would then say "You're not hanging out with them anymore. They're a bad influence", and it was actually totally redundant because there was no way in hell I'd hang out with them again anyway.

And everyone said that is the only time one of those was what was advertised.

When I was in my teens, my boyfriend and I and a group of our friends were members of a message board that I had created. He and I broke up and a few weeks later, I came home to find that 'our friends' were pretty much just 'his friends' and they'd taken advantage of this glitch in the forum's code and banned me from my own message board. I had to contact the site to get control back. I was pretty much done with them after that.

my 2 oldest friends are dangerously close to being cut out of my life. they can't talk about women without using words like "bitch, whore and c***" and one of them activly suggested our provincial premier should be shot because too many people die in hospitals.

A guy I was at university with could be warm and generous, but he was also a control freak, paranoid, bolshy, arrogant, selfish, manipulative, needy and a bit of a bully. In the first year he knew I wasn't happy with my housemates so suggested we move in together before bailing out back to his parents the first chance he got, in the second year he'd bring his personal dramas with his girlfriend to the house and display all of the above traits and by the third and final year...well, I'd distanced myself from him by then.
Inevitably, with all of those negative character traits, he went into local politics.

Was it so she would see the condition of the hospitals? Couldn't you have done something that's a little more civil to send somebody to the hospital? Like taking them to Arby's?

Had a friend that if you tried to talk to him about serious things would bitch "Why are you always so serious?",but if you just talked about non-serious stuff you got "We never talk about anything that matters".
Finally after a bit I cut ties with him. Sent him a long email explaining why. Got this as a reply "Remember REDACTED I always have my knife on me." Found out later on he was legit scared I was going to attack him at a local indy show. Thankfully not long after this he moved away.

She lied about shit that happened to her all the time, mostly for sympathy/attention. Her life was like one giant Law & Order SVU episode.

I have a friend who only contacts me when she wants something. Known her for 8 years and the ONLY time she initiates conversation is 'hey, do you have...' 'can I get..' 'do you mind...'
So, yesterday, I called her out on it. I straight up asked her 'When was the last time you talked to me just to talk to me and not ask for something?' She had no answer.
Problem is..we work together and she's weekend manager. So, the once-a-month Saturdays I work are gonna be hell.
