Feels kind of bullshit to be mostly going with super mainstream stuff instead of obscurities and then have that number one.

Number 4 and number 8 aren't sequels. Like, Phantom Menace is clearly Episode I and Return of the Jedi is Episode VI.

And doesn't Origins take place before... any of the X-Men movies?

Troll 2 is as much as a sequel to Troll as 3 Dev Adam is a prequel to Spider-Man and Captain America.

Jaws 3 isn't a bad movie. It just has a few shitty 3D shots. If someone took the time to replace them it would be a pretty good movie.

The Godfather 3 is a decent movie which just had a lot to live up to. Superman IV I know is bad but I watched it a lot as a kid so have a lot of affection for.

For bad sequels not mentioned I think Exorcist II - The Heretic is one of the worst, just a movie I found extremely boring.

I don't agree with his honorable mention of Clerks 2 and his inclusion of Troll 2. Clerks 2 I thought was hilarious and one of my favorite Kevin Smith movies. Troll wasn't even a good movie and thus Troll 2 should be disqualified from the list to begin with. I have no idea how Robocop 3 escaped the list though, good lord was that terrible.

Clerks 2 would be on a list of best sequels. Maybe not my top 10, but probably top 15-20. So....boo hiss for that.

I was expecting Highlander 2 to be number one because of how much it completely crapped on the original, instead of an obscure sequel to an obscurer C movie. I know Troll 2 is supposed to be bad, but it's a bit random considering there are no other sequels whose originals were so unknown there.

If we are talking direct to DVD sequels - S. Darko - I remember watching it and flicking to check the time to see how much time was left because I thought it was near the end and it turned out it had only been on 25 minutes.

I'm not going to pretend B&R and Troll2 are good movies... but they are very fun to watch. I'd argue that Troll 2 should be on a list of "BEST" sequels because it's many times better than Troll. How many sequels out there are that much more entertaining than the first movie?

Now Son of the Mask, THAT is the very definition of "Worst". I can't think of a single redeeming quality. It's not even "so bad it's good"


I suppose at the end of the day I understand why campy and cult movies are "worst". Because "so bad it's good" is wildly subjective.

This may be the first "worst sequels" list I've ever seen not to include Exorcist II: The Heretic. In fact, with the exception of his bandwagon #1 choice, there's no horror to be found on either the list or honoraries, and those traditionally produce the worst sequels to well-received originals.

Hmmm I disagree with 11 (Godfather 3 is better than most movies it's just got high competiton from the first 2), 9 (As mindless robot smashing films go they are not that bad), 4 (easy target, it isn't that bad) and his honorable mentions of the Pirates sequels (they are fine nothing terrible about them), Clerks 2 (Is good!) & Highlander 2 (I like this even though I know it's bad)

Troll 2 isn't a sequel so that's just irritating, it is a bad film though.

Id replace those 7 with the following in no paticular order.

• Caddyshack II (Horrendous and not funny)
• Police Academy 7 :Mission to Moscow (This is just awful even by Police Academy standards)
• The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (Lucas Black is awful and just makes this film unwatchable for me)
• Basic Instinct 2 (Hahaha, just no. Stan Collymore is in this too haha
• Austin Powers 3: Goldmember (Not a good apart from the Micheal Caine parts)
• Robocop 3 (Poor effects, bad plot and no ultra violence, fail)
• Speed 2 (Horrendous)

That is the terrible sequel that almost all terrible sequels are compared too.

It's a sequel that not only do they not reference in later movies... they actively go out of their way to make sure none of it is canon... short of blowing up the sun so they don't need to build a shield in the first place...

hell they have officially produced multiple copies of The movie trying to make it halfway decent like trying remove references to the Highlanders being aliens.... but it doesn't work on any level...

of course the worst part of it is that it's not even the worst Highlander sequel... not when Highlander: the Source exists... but that's a direct to DVD/Sci-fi channel movie and doesn't count...

9. The Transformers sequels
(To be a bad sequel doesn't the first movie have to be good?)

8. X-Men Origins: Wolverine
(It has Gambit in it.. there for it's the best X-Men film)

4. Star Wars: The Phantom Menace
(I would have went with Attack of the Clones instead)

Home Alone 3
(All of the sequels were bad but the second one)

X-Men: The Last Stand
(Gets more hate then it deserves, the third act has a decent amount of action. I can rewatch it more then the second)

Spider-Man 3
(While not as good as the first two, it's still a fun movie. Better then the mess that Amazing Spider-Man 2$

Terminator: Gynisis
(This could have been Rise of the Machines or Salvation$

Pirates of the Caribbean - Sequels
Clerks 2
(Not great but worse of all time? Nah.)
