Like you wanted to see one guy wrestle but you something on tv changed who was where. Be it an injury angle or in the day of the brand split a brand change?
Me I got tickets to an NXT house show in Asbury Park and my friend likes Samoan Joseph from his tna days and he might not be there so that will be disapointing

Went to a WWF house show in Morristown, NJ in 1993, and Owen Hart was a no show and replaced in his match against Jim Powers by some jabroni named "The Tazmaniac"

It wasn't a house show, but my first WWE show a Smackdown taping in 03, I really wanted to see Kendrick even if it was a B Show, but he was destroyed by Lesnar a week or two before. I got to watch Lesnar destroy Gowen instead, since it was an official match, which Lesnar was DQed, I got my entire area cracking up as I started shouting..,
"GOWEN WINS!!! GOWEN WINS!!! GOWEN WINS!!!"

Almost every house show I ever went to had a change. "Plane issues" (Vader), no-shows (we didn't know Sid got fired after his England tour with Arn), unexplained replacement (Rick Rude watching Steve Austin vs. Dustin Rhodes from behind the curtain when HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE FIGHTING DUSTIN IN THE MAIN EVENT!) Sami Zayn's program with Braun just started mid-October, so he was yanked from a triple-threat main event with Owens & Rollins to jerking the curtain with Golden Truth, Darren Young and Cesaro in the first match.

At a house show I attended in 1993, WWE canceled an advertised match between Sherri and Luna Vachon. I think Luna was out with an injury around this time.
WWE advertised The Ultimate Warrior for a show in my town in 1996. Unfortunately this was right around the time that he and the company had another one of their little spats and he didn't show up. We got an announcement that Warrior wouldn't be there, and WWE even offered refunds.

I went to an event years back and Morrison was scheduled to be there because he'd just returned from his neck injury. Then that changed because they booked him to go to some school up in Canada for a reading event the same night as the event. I was pretty annoyed, haha.
Then there was the positive card change a couple of years ago during the Rusev/Ziggler feud, DAYS before the event, Rusev took Ziggler out with his crutch because Ziggler was going off to film that ridiculous movie of his, so instead Zack Ryder was booked to replace Ziggler, which yeah he lost to Rusev, but it still felt like a step up for the card, haha.

Last month, Samoa Joe caught a knee injury on the Japan/Australia tour, causing him to be unable to compete at the final end of the tour here in Vegas. So NXT Takeover: San Antonio came early as we got Nakamura vs. Roode with Joe at ringside distracting Nakamura.

Went to my first SD and Orton was scheduled there. Come to find out, he had been taken out by Wade Barrett in a horribly scripted backstage fall a week before.

I went to a Smackdown house show in late 2012 at a time when Raw had recently poached the likes of Daniel Bryan, Ryback and Damien Sandow. The roster ended up being so thin that Ricardo Rodriguez had to wrestle.
Although it was wonderful a year later when Daniel Bryan showed up even though he'd been announced for the other leg of the tour. They ended up giving the poor fans of the other leg Big Show vs Randy Orton as their main event.

I remember when they did local promos, I remember PS Hayes saying specifically Sunny would be there managing the Smoking Guns. They lost the titles, she dumped them, no Sunny.
Big Show was scheduled to come, was excited to see how huge he actually was, he "quit" the week before and of course wasn't on the show. Angle was meant to be GM of that show, he didn't show up, so JBL was GM instead. Eddie also was taken off the show last minute to do PR for the Smackdown! taping in Edmonton the next night instead.

I believe it was Dec 1994, shortly after Diesel beat Backlund for the title. I'm assuming it was due to poor ticket sales, but the entire house show was canceled. The reason we were given was Backlund having a sore back.

Took my son to his first show on his 8th birthday. (8 years ago yesterday.) While the website and the flyer on the door had John Cena listed, we go to find out John won't be there (was doing PR for "12 Rounds") and we could get refunds up until the 3rd match. My opinion: we got the better deal, as the Undertaker made a surprise appearance as Rey Mysterio's tag partner against Mark Henry & the Great Khali.
Another show, no Kurt Angle (when he was GM and in the wheelchair). But "he sent assistant GM Teddy Long" to tell us Big Show had to face Luther Reigns & Mark Jindrak in a 2-on-1 handicap cage match. I yelled at him, "YOU SUCK TEDDY LONG! NOBODY WANTS TO SEE THAT!"

I remember a WWE house show I paid to see because of the surprise return of Daniel Bryan to WWE. He missed the show because he had an indy date to make up so I did not get to see him. But the next house show I did see him at, he had just recently won the World title. He played heel against the Big Show in their steel cage bout and it took longer to build the cage than the match itself. Oh well, got to be one of the 1st people who got to see his legendary dickhead World title run starting off.

I can think of two instances.
One being at a WWF house show. The match advertised was Ted DiBiase vs The American Dream Dusty Rhodes. Time for the match and out comes DUSTIN Rhodes. Needless to say I was pissed as I really wanted to see Dusty live. No explanation for the switch was given either.
The other was a WCW house show. The advertised match was a 6 man tag putting the Freebirds(Hayes, Gordy, and Garvin)vs Sting, and the Steiner Brothers. Being the Freebird mark that I was, I was disappointed to learn the Birds weren't going to be there.
