It seems that the off-topic section has had a lot of redundant threads about music and movies/tv. Is it possible that a seperate entertainment section for music/tv/movies/videogames be made? I disagree with that. It would make off topic seem alot less interesting. well I was discussing this with someone, that the randomness of the off topic section is gone because everyother thread is "Favorite Band from___" or "Favorite B&W movie from 1956".

Like wrestling itself, that goes in cycles. If you want a better thread... you can always make one. We don't charge for it.

Is it okay if I link to my board which is for the playtesters of my game? I'm in need of another group of playtesters and thought some folks from here might like to give it a shot.

Let me adress this point by point: I disagree. We try to strongly encourage equality and openess here. Making an elitist board for people who join x amount of time ago or who have x amount of posts would take away the very thing I believe is this board's strength: the fact that it's not a tight knit group of regulars that ignore any new members and talk about obscure private jokes that alienate newbies. You want to start such a board on your own, go ahead. But I feel strongly against it. I my experience those kind of boards have a limited lifespan as the regulars are the only posters there and over time they get caught up in other life stuff or just lose interest. It would also strengthen the misconception that some poster's opinions are more valid than other's. Something that is not true and won't be as long as I'm around. Thats not always true Wolfie's Den has password protected forums and they are celebrating one year. Didn't mean to ignore this. Just been a rough weekend. Anyhoo, with all due respect to those forums, aren't they dominated by a core group of posters? Just like I said I wanted to avoid this board getting mired in? It will divide the members and apply status to some, while others will be left to feel inferior because they don't post enough or didn't find the board earlier. That's not something I want for this board where everyone is equal, from the first person who registred to the guy that made his first post 1 minute ago. Maybe I can get the other mods' opinion on this?

Didn't mean to ignore this. Just been a rough weekend. Halle-freakin'-lujah and Amen. I agree. Why do we need a "VIP Room"? We're all equals here. Other boards are more private by nature. As we're associated with RD's site, we should be open to anyone who wants to join (and isn't a trolling bobo.)

What's "allowed" for pictures that may have gore in them?
Like say, I wanted to put a picture from Hotel Rwanda in my sig (Great film by the way, just watched it last night) and it was kinda gory. Not a severed head or anything, but maybe some gross cuts and stuff.
I don't mean to take up any time, I was just curios.

All Proboards sites must be in English. It's in the TOS. thats a little odd, but whatev. I will refrain from my Latin PASSION! Odd, but it's in their Big List O Rules. Probably so they can monitor sites if need be and not have to worry about what's being said.

Yeah, I've told the story before but the board for my old roleplaying supergroup in City of Heroes got deleted because some of the more hardcore roleplayers posted in Elvish.

*Makes 'Elvish/Elvis' joke*
Yeah, their support board usually has a few people complaining that their non-English board got deleted.

I have a question concerning the "posting of links" rule. If a link leads to content that is in violation of board rules, is it OK to post the link in non-clickable form (i.e., you have to copy & paste it into the address bar)?

For what reason was my thread deleted? I didn't delete it but I can answer it It was against the rules 7. COPYRIGHTED FOOTAGE - Do not place links to downloadable copyrighted material. Do not place links to File-Sharing programs. Remember, WWE owns WCW and ECW material, and their Lawyers are always watching. And so threads asking for such links are deleted

I'm not to good with Forum lingo, so could I ask, what do "Trolling" and "Flaming" mean?

Flaming refers to attacking and insulting other posters. Trolling is when a poster tries to rile up the board by flaming a whole bunch of posters, usually within the first few posts. For the most part trolls tend to ramble incoherently, so it's fairly easy to spot them.

Does saying "f*** you" or "kiss my ass" count as flaming?

Just wondering, how does one go about becoming a mod anyway? Well, when the mods are looking for another to grace their hallowed halls, they look over some of the posters without the posters' knowledge, seeing what they've done, if they're helpful, if they're rude, if they're stupid, if they've had warnings, and from there they may ask via PM. Asking to be a mod means you won't be a mod, typically. Not saying you were doing that, I'm just saying.

*note - I'm leaving this post in while the rest of the "discussion" is now gone because this best answers the question posed. (Why is the Jesus thread gone) ~Kar* The jesus thread was locked due to a flame that aimed at the poster's mental image of the jesus figure, statint that it was idotic. that, boys, is a flame. second, you should know by now that religious discussion is not allowed here, especially since it is a flame magnet, case in point, the now deleted jesus thread. and also remember, this thread is not a place to discuss things, it's q&a thread, so please keep your discussions in your inbox. but then about half the WWE threads would be closed. the main reason it was pulled, was, quoted from the rules section (which, of course, you all have read): and as a reminder: you are of course encouraged to tell us about flaming in thread, should we not see it. and this does happen due to the sheer amount of threads made every day. and no, we do not look for a new mod.
