The Emperor's New Groove shut me off Disney stuff for awhile. I remember seeing the trailer for that in theaters and thinking I'd hit the point where I was too old for Disney films My biggest problem with that movie is they took Jacobs and Allers movie Kingdom of the Sun and pretty much butchered it until it was completely unrecognizable... while at the same time leaving just enough in place so the two couldn't make the movie they actually wanted to make without it being called a rip off. Not to mention Sting of the police fully scored the movie... and upon final release only 1 of his songs made it into the movie... and it was played over the credits.

Chicken Little. Others have been dull but that one I actively hated.

Well, technically, Doug, Recess and apparently Nightmare Before Christmas are all Disney films. So there's a good variety of films to consider. And there are plenty of straight-to-video/DVD films, although I'm guessing those don't count.

Generally when people talk about this I think they mean theatrical releases made by Walt Disney Animation Studios, not theatrical/direct to DVD releases produced or distributed by Disney under another label. Doug was Walt Disney Television Animation and Jumbo Pictures Recess was also Walt Disney Television Animation

For me it is a tie between Beauty and the Beast and Lion King. Neither film appeals to me at all. But then I have never been much of a Disney fan. Out of all their animated stuff the only ones I have bothered seeing after I saw them as a kid in a theater are....
Robin Hood,The Rescuers,Song of the South and Lilo and Stitch.

I'll also say this - I think myself and other 90s kids were spoiled by the Renaissance, so when the early 2000s hit, we weren't ready for the garbage that followed.

I've never seen Brother Bear, Home on the Range, Chicken Little or Meet the Robinsons, but that seems like a completely forgettable block of films. Also never saw Black Cauldron. I have seen Bolt, and that was probably the most forgettable Disney movie I've seen. After Bolt Disney hasn't had a single miss. Bolt was decent. It wasn't anywhere as memorable as the movies in Disney's current renaissance, but the characters were enjoyable. But yeah, starting with Princess and the Frog they've been rolling. The last Disney movie that actively pissed me off was Chicken Little. Disney's had stupid dads before, but it's like he didn't want anything to do with the protagonist. It eventually got frustrating.

As someone who owns all of them, the one I consider the most dull and unremarkable (taking into consideration the time it was released) is the Aristocats. It's like a subpar Jungle Book wannabe.

I actually really hated Meet the Robinsons. Too many characters and they were all annoying. The villian was pretty funny, though.

As someone who loved the original book as a child, Disney's Peter Pan was just plain infuriating, especially with what they did to Hook.

I don't know if this is a controversial opinion or not but I freaking hate Pocahontas. I hate everything about that movie. The only song I even remember halfway liking was that Mine song the villian sang.
On the other hand I see a lot of people said Oliver and Company. That's actually in my top five. I was obsessed with it as a kid. I still have, as beat up as they are my pair of Oliver loafers I wore till they were falling apart.

I actually listed Oliver as one of my top favorites in the other thread. It just encapsulates that 80s New York vibe, and Billy Joel was awesome. And yeah, I thought Pocahontas sucked. It was boring, Mel Gibson was a shit voice actor, and it's honestly pretty offensive to Disney-ize a true story about a European douche who raped a teenage Native American girl.

What you said is the exact reasons I love Oliver and Company and hate Pocahontas. I'm from New York and at that time I lived in Brooklyn. Oliver and Company was my favorite movie because it was the first Disney movie I saw that I completely understood it wasn't in a fake fantasy world it was in a place I saw out my window everyday. And yeah I remember going to see Pocahontas and thinking it was okay. Then I went to the library and read her real story and thought it was messed up that Disney made a cartoon out of that of all things.

UGH, Pocahontas sucked! It was just a dull, dumb movie. The only thing I got out of it is the terrible joke "what's a cannibal's favorite Disney song? 'Sandwiches! Sandwiches! Barely even human!'" The funniest part about it to me is I'm a Native American girl currently dating a Western European dude

I watched Brother Bear for the first time awhile back. It's not awful, and there's some potential in the story, but it feels kinda cookie cutter. Does anybody even remember the Phil Collins songs?
