I hate this stupid system they have for college football. What the hell is the point of bowl games besides the national one? None. And so help me if Rutgers goes undefeated and doesn't get a spot in the championship game.
They really need a playoff system.

Agreed. The BCS is crap. It always winds up creating controversey. Plus theres enough time to have a playoff.

How come college football is the only sport in the entire world where a team can go undefeated and still not have a chance at winning the championship? If that's not sheer idiocy, I don't know what is.

It is crap, but, as a Rutgers student, I must say it will be a national travesty if Rutgers plays for the national championship. Besides, they haven't played any ranked teams yet.
Good God, I can't wait to get out of this school.

I see Nebraska, Florida, Michigan and Texas trade off the top spot time and again. Other then that quibble, though, yes, the BCS is HORRIBLE. They could draw names out of a kitty and it'd be a fairer system. I say, let's use the Purina Meow Mix Bowl and the Outback Awesome Blossom Bowl and all those other meaningless bowls as playoff games. Stagger them so they'll run like playoffs, and the final two meet in one of the big four bowls (and have the other three be consolation bowls for the inevitable other teams with flawless regular reason records who didn't make it to the top). I like the BCS. The Michigan/Ohio State game is going to be huge at the end of the year. If there was a playoff, the game would only be for a better seed. The Louisville/West Virginia game last night was the same way. The entire season is like a playoff(OSU/Texas,UM/Notre Dame,Florida/Auburn,etc..) I like the NCAA basketball tourney, but the regular season is basically all for nothing. College football is the only sport with really meaningful regular season games.

Hey hey hey hey. Notre Dame is awesome. So you can shut your mouth.
But yeah the BCS system is horrible. Unfortunately, due to there being SO MANY DAMN TEAMS there will ALWAYS be controversy.

I just don't understand why they don't have a playoff system. It would make things a lot easier.
Also, didn't ESPN Classic's show "Top 5 Reason You Can't Blame..." do an episode of the BSC?

Yes and it was horribly inaccurate. #1 was college presidents. Hello! That IS the reason you can blame the BCS.

The only way the BCS gets bailed out is if Louisville drops the ball and loses to Rutgers, then Rutgets goes and loses to West Virginia. Or whichever order those games go in. Or if Michigan/Ohio State lose a game before their showdown.
I hate the BCS. I still haven't forgiven them for Auburn a couple of years ago. The damn system gets it right once in awhile, and usually something happens so it falls in their laps.

I'm well aware of that. Now I'm just hoping we get to a bowl game.
And that we beat the Gators on the 25th
