It's so annoying that Lucas kept modifying the damn movies every few years.

I've may or may not have seen this. I would or would not recommend looking for it and watching it.

Speaking as someone over 30, while I do like the charm of retro stuff, give me clean, digital over analogue presentations every time.

It's so annoying that Lucas kept modifying the damn movies every few years. My dad used to write articles for the local paper and told me once that you can "write a story to death" meaning of course that you can have a story just fine the way it is, but when you start going back and wanting to make minor improvements, you can ruin it

and the next logical step is ..... to put back the ORIGINAL ORIGINAL WW2 scenes, replacing the space fights stuff!

It's always been strange to me how many times George Lucas went back and edited Star Wars. Most creative types finish a film, then move on to their next idea, only revisiting their past work on very special occasions. With Lucas, it was almost as if he was bankrupt for ideas, so he just kept editing Star Wars.

I just want the original trilogy on Blu Ray. That way we get the best of both worlds. The original cut and a beautiful high definition picture. I enjoy watching the original trilogy that is out there on Blu Ray. They did a great job on it. It looks amazing. Then some kooky looking CGI addition takes me right out of it.

Some of the additions in the SE are fine by me. Some of them were dumb. Some of them were distracting (CGI Jabba was terrible).

Here I am, watching all these beautiful restorations the Criterion Collection puts out like a sucker. Restorations that are often overseen by the director or cinematographer of the film. Guess those clods aren't into "retro".

- A new hope - Greedo Shooting first & Jabba aside I thought it was fine - Empire - No issues what so ever, Perfect - Jedi was a kick in the balls, Then a kick to the face. Lucas has damaged that movie to the point where I have to bootleg it to truly enjoy it

Honestly I'm fine with them restoring footage and cleaning up audio and effects from the original. Hell even making Mos Eisley more lively made sense to me. It was once he started adding unnecessary scenes or unnecessary dialog that I started having issues. IE Han not shooting first, the weird Jabba scene with Han in A New Hope, Vader's No in Return.
