last weekend I finally managed to watch the anime film paprika, I'd attempted to watch it at least 10 times in the two years I've owned the dvd (random reasons for interruptions causing me to lose interest in the film or lose the plotline of the film.) leaving 99.95% of my film collection watched in one way or another, I realised this morning that I'd finally managed to get a film off my "must get round to watching one day" list and thought it'd make an interesting topic for here.
so what is the one film/book that's your white whale that you never got around to watching/reading? or have you managed to harpoon your own personal moby dick?

I never completed Fallout 3. I never watched Godfather Part 2 from start to finish but seen the full movie based in parts. Like the movie takes up like 4-5 hours on TV even the non TV Edits because of them commercials. Never seen Godfather 3 as well.

I still need to sit down and read Brian K. Vaughn's Saga.
The first two Godfathers are amazing. It's because of this that I'm terrified to watch the third.

I've tried to watch The Ten Commandments a good 10 times in my life and have never finished due to interruptions. I don't mean like somebody called and I wasted 10 minutes. I mean like interruptions on the level of me having to leave the house.
I've actually quit trying to watch it because I'm afraid of the next time

A movie called The Late Show. It came out in 1977, starred Art Carney and Lily Tomlin.
I spent years looking for it online, rental places and whatnot. I could've bought the DVD, but I thought that was unfair since I only wanted to check it out first.
I finally found something that had it online for very cheap.
Turns out the movie sucked ass.

I'd like to actually read Wertham's Seduction of the Innocent.
It's been out of print for decades, and I'm not spending 100s of dollars to read it, as I'm sure it's equal parts dry and ludicrous.

For a long time, The Stand by Stephen King was on the top of my list, started it multiple times over the course of ten years and never got past the tenth chapter until last year. My grandma was a huge King fan and a big reason why I love his work so much, she died in the fall and a few weeks later, I read the Stand in about three days because it was her absolute favorite. I guess now it's probably the Marvel Netflix shows. I started Daredevil one night after the Ladyhawk suggested I put on something she wasn't interested in watching because she was going to sleep and I wasn't, two hours later we were both still up and finishing the second episode. Since then, we've gotten distracted with stuff like OJ: Made in America and Friends but I plan to make it back around.

As part of my birthday present last year, my fiancée got me a copy of Infinite Jest.
We made a $20 bet that I would finish it in its entirety by my 2017 birthday.
Well, I have a little over two months to finish it. It's been a slow read.

The second hardcover for Saga just came out last week, I think. It's like the perfect time to get into it. You'd be all caught up in two beautiful books. For this topic, my answer would probably be Summer of the Ubume. I just can't find the book anywhere for a reasonable price. I don't know why it's so dang expensive, either. I've never bumped into anyone else who wants to read it.

Pretty much all computer games. I never actually play them. Just read about them and then never bother to play them because it takes too long. GTA V aside, I liked that one.
I tried to play Red Dead Redemprion. Seems really cool but I actually have to ride on horseback all the way to some other place and do stuff? Too much of a chore for me.

I have two:
Stanley Kubrick's 'Lolita' - I'm a huge Kubrick fan, and I've owned all his films since 2001 (the actual year), and I've just never felt ready to finish his filmography. I like knowing he has one more masterwork I've yet to lay eyes on. I guess I'm saving it for a special occasion, but I don't know if my future wife would want to check it out on the night of our wedding or in the hospital the night our first child is born.
Nas' 'Hate Me Now' video with Puffy on the Cross - The original edit of the video that was never meant to see the like of day. Accidentally delivered to MTV for the premiere, aired exactly once, and then pulled at Puffy's request. It's never resurfaced officially or as a bootleg anywhere, (not even YouTube at the height of it being the wild west).
Truth be told, I don't like the video, or the song for that matter, but it's such a fascinating television snafu and hip-hop footnote that I've written about it several times without having only ever seen a still image that somehow appeared on a Christian "Anti-blasphemy" website.
