The UK can't catch a break, it's been hell the last month...
Some Video, it's pretty intense, there are reports of people jumping to their death to avoid being engulfed by it and probably others also lost in the blaze. Many families seeing if their loved ones made it out.: twitter.com/Flewbys/status/874844066474864641
Just a tragic scene right now. All the best to everyone...

I've seen many people jumping to conclusions, but looking at the history of the building it seems that this building has been an accident waiting to happen for a number of years. A badly made and badly maintained building.
Hope everybody got out, but I'll be amazed if all of the residents got out of that inferno with their lives. A truly tragic accident.

Grenfell I think is one of the first high-rise places built to deal with the population rise in London during the early 1970s, and from the looks of it hasn't been upgraded at all since. The fact that people are saying something like this was an accident waiting to happen is horrible.

The hope is that they can at least get everyone's accounted for. Preferably alive.
If warnings were ignored, then there had better be hell to pay.

Yeah, we don't sue much in general, but when we get mad, we get mad.

12 confirmed dead so far.
Awful.
The intensity and scale of that fire looked shocking.

I'm amazed the thing is still standing, it was on fire for over 12 hours. It looked like something out of a horror movie, I've never seen anything like it, just horrible.

Such a tragedy. I can only give my thoughts to those affected and still affected in hospital.
I do love people trying to say not to polticise it or put the blame on anyone but London's a city that a) rapidly cut back on its fire department and b) has a history of rushing badly made housing that's slated as "affordable". This isn't so much as politicising as pointing out the facts in how something like this could be prevented and what caused it in the first place.

Scary stuff.
Seeing Torches go on and off in a burning building is creepy to watch.
Almost 9/11 like if you will, Sorry to all those affected and have lost loved ones in all of this.

pretty much determined now that:
A fridge somehow caused the initial blaze The stupid cladding may as well have been made out of charcoal for all the good it did. Most of the cupboards in thel building were chipboard, which helped spread the blaze in flats as fast as outside while spreading toxic fumes from the glue. No sprinkler system or centralised fire alarm was ever installed. Owners instructed tenants to stay in their rooms in the event of fire, which may be safe for 30 minutes in the case of internal fire, but madness in the case of an external fire.
There's also a lot more I can't even go into on here for various reasons.
