Jeff Duhamel Commentary Depreciation Thread

What a shitshow that was. I felt sorry for The Hardys, Balor, Sheasaro, Sampson, and anyone who had to listen to that

One of the worst commentary stints I've ever had to listen to. He couldn't have sounded more disinterested in the product and was more interested in plugging his own shit than saying anything worth a damn or adding a lick of emotion to anything that was taking place. Just terrible. Everything looked terrible from Duhmel, to the product in general in showing how much the GUESTS you bring on, don't give a shit about it.

Maybe we should be happy that Bradley Cooper hates us

But anyways, when he literally said, "I've never been to one of these events.", I knew it wasn't going to be good.

Have we really sunk to calling out somebody who has never had any experience in the wrestling world... who was probably thrown onto the air solely due to his next movie being produced by WWE... who has never in his life done sports-entertainment commentary... we're really gonna shit this much on him? He sounded disinterested? He was making comments as much as he could for somebody that probably has little to no knowledge of the product! Making comments of how hard hitting they are and such. And he's "interested in plugging his own shit"... well what's he supposed to do when Corey Graves keeps asking him about what he's working on every thirty seconds! Maybe there's sarcasm in this that I'm just not picking up on, but if this is really a genuine depreciation thread, it just feels like grasping at straws to criticize everything WWE puts out, including this.

It would have been preferable not to have had Duhamel out there at all to the shitshow we got during the opening match. It utterly ruined the commentary on an otherwise high-quality matchup that was meant to tease two matches at GBOF pay-per-view. I honestly hope he gets pulled from that film project - if he's that disinterested in WWE's central revenue-generating enterprise and can't be arsed even to learn something about it to be halfway knowledgeable, he shouldn't have been thrown out there. I have little tolerance for so-called "creative people" who don't do their homework on other fields of expression.

To be fair, I think most people realize it wasn't really Jack's fault that his commetary sucked (though there are some here that think otherwise), as much as it was WWE for putting yet another celebrity on the announce booth expecting anything worthwile coming out of it, even though it rarely ever works.
