Easily Colt. The chance they gave him was beyond pathetic. Like to the point of why bother. Like I know that some people feels he bitches about the WWE too much and his stint there, but I've never held it against him at all.

The indy guy screwed over the most by WWE will be that Last Outlaw guy they signed just to take his name as yet another nickname for the Undertaker.

I never "got" Cabana. I never wanted to see him in WWE, so nothing of value lost to me.
Callihan came in with a bunch of hype at a time when developmental seemed to do no wrong. They also seemed to just kinda forget they had him signed. I wasn't personally big on him, but I did expect them to do more with him.

Callihan was doomed, but he's my pick.
Even if he made it to main roster, he's a gimmick/look Vince's dumbass would never have gotten.
Although I'd prefer the presentation he's had on the indies rather than the glorified troll doll with horrible tights.

They just wanted the name and offered him a good amount of money. But he thought he was good enough to be in WWE. Was he surprised by being released?

Kazarian really didn't get screwed at all. The guy asked for his release because they wanted him to cut his hair. So if anything he kind of screwed himself.

KENTA. They changed his name, took away his finisher, then gave him zero character. On top of that, they stuck him in the ring with greenhorn rookies who injured him. He's still trying to recover from their complete botching of his debut. Everyone with a future gets a new name. Deal with it. Just one name in all caps is silly in USA. Can't help his injuries. Everyone has worked with less experienced guys at times. He has his finisher. Kaval had attitude problems. I'm sorry but Scotty Goldman just isn't very good. Mediocre in the ring. Not a good look. Just "comedy" that only some find funny. Bateman wasn't an Indy guy. He had bad luck with injuries and hated DeMott who is long gone now. The Wolves/Pitbulls were bland as f*** and still are. Crowe had a weird look and had some not interesting matches. Maybe they failed him but he didn't really show much there. He looked out of place.

Easily Christopher Daniels for me. Bruce Prichard says he was the original choice for the Higher Power role but Vince thought he was too small and he was gone. There are so many other ways Daniels could've contributed to the WWE but he wasn't even given a chance to do something else. Such a wasted opportunity. I like Daniels but in 1999, that would have gotten a collective "Huh?" from the crowd if he was revealed as the higher power. I thought Colt would have fit right in the WWE, he doesn't take himself seriously and would be down for just about anything that was suggested.

I will say Colt Cabana, since he is the one guy on the list who was truly ready. Kenny Omega, Trent Beretta, Juice Robinson and even Christopher Daniels went pretty early in their careers and it was honestly good for them not to make it in WWE. Low Ki/Kaval clearly had an attitude problem. Not really sure what the heck happened to Callihan.

Austin Aries. Bobby Fish. The list goes on. They stopped giving out new names shortly after signing him. It does people in his situation a disservice. Also, yeah, he has his finisher NOW. What about those first couple of years where he was struggling to find something that clicked?

I agree people would've reacted poorly to his reveal if it actually went through. I still think they could have found plenty of other things to do with him and the fact he was never given another chance to do something else there is shameful. I have to disagree about Colt's willingness to do just about anything. He's mentioned that he'd want things on his own terms if he were offered a WWE deal several times on his podcast. He's not in any position to make demands of them. He's a fun comedic wrestler but he doesn't carry the value or the star power to have his way there. He's straight up delusional if he thinks he does.

He's still trying to recover from their complete botching of his debut. The name thing isn't a big deal. Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, etc. all did fine with name/gimmick changes. What botching of his debut are you talking about? His first segment saw him beat up the Ascension and his first match was a win over Justin Gabriel, where he didn't perform very well. I love KENTA/Hideo, but his run has been marred by different things that aren't really the WWE's fault. Sure, he didn't have the GTS, but Owens and Seth got way over without the Package Piledriver or God's Last Gift. He didn't transition too well early on, and his matches suffered. Just when he started hitting his stride, he got injured and lost a year of momentum. He came back and got hurt against a green rookie (you were right on that one) before coming back and finally having his best NXT match against Roode. Hopefully, he can stay healthy now, but I don't blame his struggles on the WWE.

With Kaval didn't he give Ziggler a pretty bad concussion during their IC title match? I think that sealed his fate more than anything else.

Vince wants people to seize the brass ring and fight to get an opportunity, so as much much as people like to mock the guy for taking the smaller payday, it's hard to blame him for taking a chance to get a foot in the door. The aim of every indy performer should be to get on the WWE's radar if they're serious about making money.
