Doing a little thing for a site, so thought I'd ask here. If you're still reading/collecting comics, which current (and current only) titles do you follow? That goes for Marvel, DC, Image, any of them.
Also, if you do follow them, do you actually buy each issue of that series, just certain issues that stand out, wait for the TPBs or do you just read them in the store and put them back on the shelf?
Thanks.

I make a purchase of each of the Ultimate series (except maybe a spin-off title every now and then). Gotten every issue of Uncanny X-Men, minus the first 11 issues, so, I need some mega dollars. The Goon is bad, as in the good 80's sense. The Invincible Iron Man is beyond awesome. Green Lantern and Batman are the only DC titles I follow. Never bother with TPBs are anything of that sort. I'm also a month behind, so should have a hefty pile waiting for me once I can get back.

For the most part I stick to Dark Horse comics and their line of Star Wars mags and their TPBs of Manga titles like Museum of Terror, Reiko the Zombie Shop, Trigun, and Hellsing.

I just buy trades. I follow the Ultimate titles, Daredevil, Amazing Spider-Man, Fables, Y: The Last Man, 100 Bullets, and some others I dont remember at the moment. I buy lots of trades of old stuff, and limited series as well. I buy some select issues of comics, lately I have been buying Civil War and before that Infinite Crisis. But I never bag and board them, I read them, leave them over the john, then stash them in a box in the garage.

I follow Daredevil, Runaways, X-Factor and Astonishing X-Men on a monthly basis. I used to follow the Ultimates, but it's such a long wait between issues it's beginning to be not worth it.

I pick up Fables pretty well monthly when I can.. if I miss say two or three issues of an arc, I'll wait for a trade. I get the Goon pretty regularly. I get Ultimate Spidey pretty well monthly as thus far I've got the entire run, though with Bagley moving on, that COULD change depending on who follows him, as I've been a bit dissapointed with the last couple of storylines, though I usually am a Bendis fan. I've gotten into Invincible of late. I'm keeping up with Justice, and along those lines will usually pick up anything Alex Ross does. In that same vein, anything George Perez or Alan Moore works on, I'll at least take a gander at.
As I've gotten older, and my tastes have changed I generally keep an eye more and more for creators I like, and that has begun to influence my buying/reading habits moreso than characters. Often I'll hear about a series that has been out for a bit and pick up a trade and then if I really dig it, I'll start going issue to issue. ( An example of this is I've been hearing good things about Loveless, so I'm curious to start picking that up in a TPB, and then following it if I dig it.)
I tend to buy either/or when it comes to trades or individual issues though, I'm actually more influenced by I suppose "convenience" than anything else, i.e. I was following 52 for a bit, but through a combination of financial stuff, sellouts etc, I ended up missing a huge chunk of the issues, and thus plan on waiting for the trade on that. The whole thing with issues vs. trades does irk me sometimes when 'you can tell' that a story is being written specifically to go into a trade collection, which of course is the nature of the beast now, and there's probably no getting away from it, but it can be a little frustrating when you can tell for example a storyarc that could be done in three issues is 'stretched' over a six issue span to be collected in a trade later.. often that will take a bit of the escapism out of a story if you're trying to read issue to issue, but there again that lends positives to the trade side of things. So there's good and ill from collecting both methods.
Another thing that is sorta troubling as a longtime fan is what appears to be the superhero universes in particular " feeding off themselves and their own history", which just doesn't seem to lend itself to getting a new crop of readers. What I mean is, I dug that heck out of Infinite Crisis, BUT I was around to read the original Crisis as a kid--if I'm a ten year old trying to pick up something as mired in history as some storylines seem to be, I'm probably going to get frustrated by not knowing what's goin on fairly quickly, not to go on a rant, but often books seem to be written for an ever aging/ever shrinking fanbase that has followed a title for twenty years or whatever and knows all of the history, which as an experienced reader doesn't affect me personally that much, but I can't imagine trying to keep up if I was just beginning to read. I guess I kind of miss the days of done in one or two part stories some too, which goes back to the problems with the whole "waiting for the trade" mentality, if a story is going to go five or six or seven issues, it's going to be a fairly big financial committment to see an arc through to its conclusion-- but much of that gripe I chalk up to me being an old fart collectorwise.
It'd be interesting if superheroes, as much as I do love them, didn't have such a stranglehold on the artform. ( At least as far as the USA is concerned). It'd also be nice if there wasn't a stigma on the art as well... But whaddya gonna do, it's like I can tell someone, "hey I just saw a great movie/television show-read a great book---heard a great band---played a great game" and they might check it out, but unless they're inclined to be into comics anyway, you can't OFTEN say the same for a great comic. But that's a whole 'nother thing unrelated to your initial post and I realize I'm either preaching to the choir or fightiing windmills as if their giants on that topic , so just ignore the rambling and pay attention to the first part I guess.

I'm reading Civil War and the various New Line horror movie comics that are out. I try and get every issue. I also buy a What If not and then. My brother is a huge comic reader who's following a few series right now.

Green Lantern's the only comic I'm loyally following right now, although I'll pick up Ultimate X-Men from time to time.

I have subscriptions to Iron Man and Uncanny X-Men. I occasionally buy an issue of She-Hulk. I don't read comics in the store, I'll buy them and read them when I get home.
And I liked New X-Men until the guys that created X-23 came on board. They suck. Make note of that. I miss Nunzio DeFillipis and Christina Weir.
If that last segment is not useful to you...sorry.

Largely I'll stick to buying trades, not even that many. Daredevil & The Ultimates are about the only things I keep up with. Though I was following all of DCs "Infinite Crisis" titles. Since I've moved out of Belfast it's harder for me to get to the comic shop as regularly.

having not been into comics for a very long time I haven't bought a book since I was a kid. but now I'm getting back into it, been spending weeks reading stuff on Wikipedia to get back up to speed on major characters and this christmas I asked for a shitload of trade paperbacks (bare essential stuff like Crisis on Infinite Earths, Secret Wars and The Watchmen first, that stuff's what's been interesting to me *awaits screaming fan-boys finding a reason to call me an idiot*) so I'll probably have a hell of a lot of reading to do come christmas time. the Justice League Unlimited, Teen Titans and Ultimate Avengers cartoons were a big part of it too.
me and a friend are also working on a comic universe all our own. right now it's probably a lot of derivative crap, but I'm working at it atleast.

I'm REALLY interested in Kingdom Come. was "The Kingdom" any good though?
I figure this summer when I get a new job I'll get the trade papaerbacks for Infinite Crisis (a lot of them, but they're all relatively cheap).
