Apparently that is Siddiq I guess since they made Oceanside all women colony in the TV series, this is the best way to introduce him Yeah, I just read an interview on ew.com. They confirmed it's Siddiq. Looking at the actor, and based on recent comic events {Spoiler}{Spoiler}He and Rosita would look hot together You still think they are going to do that subplot ?

That's a long way off and there are way too many variables that could be tweaked for TV purposes. I'm just saying that, physically, they'd look good together. :-P

Good episode to start with. Gregory is such a dick. I've forgot what happens to him in the comics but I can't wait for him to get killed off.

I was under the impression that "Old Man Rick" was Rick daydreaming about a better future, not an "actual" time skip. Me too. He even mentions that he’s been thinking about how things would be after the war. Yeah the whole color look and kinda wavey look for sure felt like a dream

Alright not a bad start to the season. When it comes to Walking Dead season openers I wouldn't say it is my outright favourite.. Perhaps a little to much happening at once. But still, Last season it took to the very last episode of the season to get someone being eaten by a Zombie (Sasha biting that dude).. We've had 2 already - I quite liked the future scenes.. Interesting to see where they are going with this. - Wonder what role that guy who Carl met only to be chased off by Rick will play. - Hurry up and die Greg... Gabriel was a douche in the past but he has redeemed himself, please don't die All in all a good episode, like I said I preferred other Season openers but this was still a solid start.. I just hope they keep momentum and we don't get a 2 filler episodes before something else relevant happens.

Is Maggie still pregnant? It seems there was a bit of time between end of last season and start of this one, going by Judith (not the flashforward at the end but halfway through), and STILL not a hint of a baby bump.

I was under the impression that "Old Man Rick" was Rick daydreaming about a better future, not an "actual" time skip. It could be a swerve, but Judith mentioned a festival in the flash-forward. And that's a pretty big clue of a huge post-war event to comic readers. {Spoiler}When the next 'big bad', Alpha from the Whisperers lures several characters away and marks her territory with their decapitated heads on spikes.

{Spoiler}{Spoiler} My pick for heads on a pike keep changing based upon the characters who are alive. Whoever "minor" that doesn't die in the war will probably be killed then
I expect Morgan to die either in this war or by Alpha because he's way outlived his comic character and is sort of in a weird space where he's muscle and not much else. Tara seems to be due soon as well
Ezekiel more than likely still ends up with his head on a pike and I can see them giving Carol the power there since she's sort of comic book Michonne

Ezekiel more than likely still ends up with his head on a pike and I can see them giving Carol the power there since she's sort of comic book Michonne {Spoiler} they need to do Ezekiel and at least one MAJOR character who's been there since before Alexandria (but not Rick). I'd be fine with Rosita since I don't like her at all anymore but that's too easy. Tara would be fine but even though she's been there forever she still comes across as a background character. Carl won't happen. Darryl, I'm done theorizing on that guy. Gabriel, maybe. Morgan would work too. It won't be Mgaggie.
Whoever it is it HAS to be the last shot of a season. I can't see Negan getting dragged out for another two seasons so I guess the end of season eight works. Maybe have the war all season and end it in the second to last episode then have the finale be a happy little episode with that being the ending, with hints at the Whisperers peppered in from time to time. I can't remember how many issues passed between the end of the war with Negan and the beginning with the Whispers but I know it wasn't instantaneous. But it has to be seen on camera before a season ends. No tease like with Negan busting a head. Been there, done that.
So I fully expect season nine to end with a distraught Old Rick staring at something it terror. Yes, I said season nine. One "better" episode hasn't made me forget season sevens stalling.

My candidates for the "border marking" {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Morgan, Ezekial, Rosita, Tara, Tobin, Francine and three to five random characters. I also suspect some Oceanside people to show up. I could actually see Dwight and/or Sherry. This all, of course, depends on who survives the war.

This all, of course, depends on who survives the war. {Spoiler}{Spoiler} A part of me wants them to keep Ezekial because I didn't feel his character got a fair shake in the comic before Kirkman killed him off and I love how Khary Payton has brought his character to life
However, I understand that you need that one major character to fit the bill and him dying could be another character arc for Carol who like I said is essentially the Michonne of the comic series with her being a loner and all that
Besides that, yea I expect people like Morgan, Tara, and maybe even Heath (if they bring him back) to die between now and or get their head on a pike
I still think in order to get Rick to put Negan in jail they will call back when Morgan built the prison and he will beg Rick to put him in jail instead of killing him which could be one of their solutions to start getting people used to seeing Negan

I don't expect them to introduce the whole Magna group but I expect at least 2 and some character exclusive TV characters to appear. That's going to be a rough few episodes because the start after the time skip is rough and nothing really happens until the characters die
Also yea in regards to Daryl I can't predict when he dies because I was sure for a few years he would be the one to get Lucille'd. Hell, he might get the Andrea death with Rick crying over his Zombie body

One other character I'm curious about moving forward: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Enid. Will she be Carl's BFF, like Sophia? Or will she somehow be substituted in for Lydia? Imagine the reaction if they remove Lydia and instead have Alpha kidnap Enid and allow her followers to have their way with her before she's rescued by Carl.

Technically, you don't need a Sophia because she isn't even used in the comic all that much but I like this idea because Carl falling for Lydia out the blue was kind of weird but what you proposed makes a lot of sense

Robert Kirkman has recently stated that he's the one character he regrets killing.
