"If the Nature Boy Ric Flair worked for WWE, but he doesn't, because they can't afford him..."

So they can afford to pay Brock 12m to half-ass it, but they couldn't afford him?

If Ric Flair broke in today, he wouldn't be "The Nature Boy". He'd just be another name in a sea of names, hoping to get work. Flair's assuming he'd be just as popular and in demand as he was in the 70's and 80's, when kayfabe was still alive and wrestling was still huge. He's ignoring the fact that a lot of his legacy was owed to the NWA and WCW. Without them, in the modern day, where does he make his name? ROH?

In Ric's own mind "WWE couldn't afford me if I broke in today" In reality Should read "Will Blade For Food"

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooo He's right, ya know. Explain how? Yeah, 25 Ric isn't THE NATURE BOY! WOO! He wasn't the Nature Boy until 1977. 25 Ric is when he first started working in Jim Crockett.

Even if he was the Nature Boy, they could afford him. It's not like he could threaten to go anywhere else.

I'm probably reading too far into this because who knows what he meant, if anything at all, but perhaps he means that applying his raw talent and working the indies he could make so much money simply being Ric Flair talented and dedicated that they couldn't pay him enough to come in.
Flair's hustle is too strong. Woooooooo!!

Ric just wants to be 25 again because then he only has to pay off TWO Ex-Wives

I think that people are taking the 25 year old remark too literally, I'm sure that he means that if he were prime Nature Boy. The guy is 68 years old, that's like 680 years old in 1980's wrestler years I'm sure that he can't remember a goddamn thing accurately.

Flair must not be remembering well because him at 25 isn't the Flair the WWE would be paying a lot to have. I was going to say, wasn't he not even worth a damn until he was in his mid to late 30's?

Yep the 80s made Flair who he is today. They didn't even form the Horsemen into 85 and he was 36 then lol.

They couldn't afford you because you've already spend your whole paycheck and then beg them for more money you stupid f***.
That type of attitude is the reason why there's an upcoming 30 for 30 about how big of a moron you are.

If Vince saw these photos Ric wouldn't get a second look. Ric admitted that he only got into good shape because he starved in the AWA, Mike Graham used to call him Dusty Jr.

Just to put it into perspective, he was 25 circa 1975. Long before the Horsemen era. this really puts flair into perspective for me, because he has always just been "old" to me.
