With all the record labels out there could we get another one of these proper for the current gen. Icon was a major disappointment and seemed to essentially kill off the interest of the franchise but these two games was always fun to pick up. I miss the arcade style of wrestling games and having another one of these out will be a great fix.

Those are excellent games. I'll always love the AKI engine, which was used by both of these games.
The AKI engine was also used in the very fun Ultimate MUSCLE games.

I have nothing but great memories of these games. It's such a shame that Icon killed off what could've otherwise gone on to be a long running wrestling/fighting game franchise.

Fight for NY is my absolute favorite fighting game ever, and in my top 5 for favorite game of all time.

Still don't know why they killed off the wrestling aspect of it for Icon. Sure you wanted to do a story mode with your character getting into music business ( I think that was the storyline) but I liked the underground aspects of it from Vendetta and Fight for NY

I'm getting it again since my dad threw out the Xbox and the game. It's expensive if you got a copy it's a genuine collectors item.

I still want to go back and finish Fight for NY's story mode. Awesome game.

I question everyday why there hasn't been some form of HD remake of FFNY

These games are my jams and FFNY is in my PS2 as we post. I don't know if I want a new Def Jam or not because I'd punch a hole in my house if I caught the fade of all fade from Quavo or Lil' Uzi Vert. Fun Fact: I did not do a Blazin move until FFNY was out for six months. I also paid my cousin in Now-or-laters to do the three on one match for me.

I question everyday why there hasn't been some form of HD remake of FFNY Or at the very least release them out for PS4. I guess they are focusing on the "classic games" like Bully, Warriors, San Andreas etc... but I would def buy it if they released for PS4 download like the others

Fight for NY is, to me, the best pure fighting game. Yes the Blazin' moves require suspension of disbelief but the whole ascetic feels like a fight can end at any moment. The Style Specific KO moves(ie. The Haymaker, or Flying Kick) add alot to it.

I still have both games. They still hold up to this day. I really wish there was an actual followup to the second game than what we were given.

I was surprised with how much I liked FFNY. I'd bargain bin'd it for $5 and pretty much played through without switching out to another game until I finished the story.
That, and shoving Danny Trejo into the path of an oncoming train was kind of hilarious within context.

FFNY caused me to have an erotic dream about Henry Rollins, and I'm straight as an arrow.

I remember a college buddy had Vendetta and a Gamecube. We'd get together and play that game all the time. So much fun.

I never played them but always wanted to. I followed the AKI engine through WCW and WWF, and then missed out on these.

Great games
I love how even if you know absolutely nothing about Rap they're still enjoyable (Even the story mode)

I think from jump they always wanted to get away from the wrestling aspect after Vendetta but Fight for NY was really popular and yet they still released Icon stripping away a lot of the popular aspects of the game
