Pre-release was excellent today. Free pizza and though I didn't do well (only won 1 out of 4 rounds) I got a card that I used to get cards for a modern red deck wins (with a long term goal of Naya.)

Ixalan has definitely got me re-interested some really cool cards in the set. Now to save up some money to buy some One of the great things about it too is that right now the majority of the cards don't cost an arm and a leg. Think the most expensive non-foil right now is Carnage Tyrant at $25 (I was lucky to get that out of my pre-release and used it to get cards to start a RDW modern deck.) Oh, and there's more incentive to buying a booster box now. When you do, you get a special "buy-a-box pack" containing: 1 promo 2 foils 2 foil promo lands 4 rares/mythics Planning on going to the draft weekend event tomorrow.

Yeah...draft sucked for me today. Only draw was against a kid who was probably 10 at the oldest I did get the Bishop of Rebirth promo and snagged some decent cards. Not sure if I'll be able to play commander tomorrow.

Hey, Tuesday finally yielded me a round win in Draft! Yeah, I lost the other 3 but PROGRESS! Owner gave all the losers a pack since he placed. Pulled a foil Ronas from Amonkhet.
Ordered my cards for Modern. RDW here I come!

Got a couple of site recommendations: For the Commander/EDH players out there we have edhrec.com/ simply type in a card and get a whole host of suggestions to build around for EDH For card search with a vast array of tools and uses there is scryfall.com/

I have recently thought I may like to get into Magic but it seems like it favors people who want to spend a ton of money. Is it possible to play it without breaking the bank?

It only really favors people during the pro tour. I suggest going on youtube and check out some of the mana source's videos. Wedge builds some nice competitive cheap decks. Tolarian Community College is good too. Then find your local game store.

Looking for an idea for a casual deck... something with Warped Devotions and Megrims, so black and blue would be nice. Previous deck with those cards also had Storm Cauldrons so not that anymore.
Any ideas?

Thoughts on Ghalta, the elder Dinosaur spoiled some weeks back? Definitely trying to home brew a deck with my shop owner on it. Trying to find a billion ways to get that card out. Possibilities: -Ramping (Growing Rite of Itlimoc, Unclaimed territory.) -Low cost creatures that have 3 power (Raptor Campion, Old Growth Dryads, etc...) -Pump creatures (Vanquisher's banner for example.) -Putting it out on the battlefield for no cost (Champion of Rhonas for example when exerted.)

Timing question: if you use something to copy a spell (like Twincast), both are in the stack but which resolves first, the copy or the original?
Specifically, another player casts a Cyclonic Rift that's Overloaded, and I copy with Twincast... does my copy resolve first, and the original second?

From my understanding your copy will resolve first.

The one cast last always goes first Including making a copy. Keep in mind that the copy isn't cast, just the card that copies it
